We tried to use the radiation simulator GEANT4 that has been developed by European Organization for Nuclear Research. We installed it in a personal computer and applied it for studying radiation behaviors around us. In this paper we show some pictures for gamma ray simulations and energy distributions in a material.

The remnants of six sōbashira-style earthfast pillar structures were found in Noshima Castle. They consist of square 2 ken × 2 ken bases and, as such, are likely to have been seirō. The archeological survey report does not clearly indicate the role of these structures; the report argues that they may have been seirō, but it also expresses doubt by questioning what useful role such structures could have served and why there were so many of them. In this article, I reaffirmed that the remnants of sōbashira-style earthfast pillar structures discovered in Noshima Castle were all seirō. Having examined these seirō as well as the seirō in other medieval fortresses, I concluded that they were erected to keep a close lookout over the sheer drop on the outside of the fortress over the dobei. Also, have been erected from the middle to late 16th century, they belonged exclusively to a period of conflict in Japan’s history, marked by fierce battles between large armies.

This paper proposes a way of recognition of the value of the resistors. The main purpose of this research is providing the value of resistors especially for the color blinds. The value of the resistor is expressed by the combination of some color stripes. But it is very difficult for the color blinds to recognize them.

By interviewing the foreign workers living on the island with their own native language, we aimed to bring out their thinking on their purpose, conditions and so forth. The pieces of information would help them cooperate each other and form a kind of community. They revealed, however, what they need is not communicating with others, but that they dwell on wages. And a loose but immediate relationship with the foreigners is advised to be established between them and the native inhabitants.

In OFDM transmission, frequency selective fading attenuates the received power of specific sub-carrier signals. For this problem, precoded OFDM which performs unitary transformation to the first modulated data symbol sequence before generating the OFDM symbol is one of the solution methods. In this method, we can apply iterative detection. After the first demodulation at the receiver, exchanging symbol replica and minor channel response sub-carrier signals, then, next demodulation process starts again. However, optimum replacement number has not been researched. Although theoretical analysis result has been carried out, it does not match with the computer simulation. In this paper, I propose a new construction method of symbol replica. Then, I show that the theoretical analysis results are almost equal to the computer simulation. Therefore, proposed method can be applied to calculate the optimum replacement number for iterative detection.

The results are summarized below:1.It is very difficult to hand down that because the race is turned sports from traditional culture. 2.Most of races are got the victory or defeat around approaching first buoy. And every Kaidennma teams have different rowing way that is high stroke or low stroke. A number of stroke increase from 20 years ago.

This paper describes on the energy saving experiment by using monitoring system of electric power consumption at the National Institute of Technology, Hiroshima College. To solve energy problem, it was first considered that we needed to promote the reduction of energy consumption. In the previous study, it was confirmed that visualization of electric power consumption was effective to promote the energy saving action. To accomplish the energy saving action in our college, we constructed monitoring system of electric power consumption. This system could provide us immediately with the amount of the electric power consumption. By using this monitoring system, we could visualize of electric power consumption at college building area and dormitory area.

The ship operator must perform steerage under various environment. The psychological stress is assumed to be one of the outbreak factors of the sea disaster accident. As means to inspect a sea disaster accident and relations of the quantity of psychological stress, I paid attention to the navigation simulator system. I clarify psychological stress during steerage by testing it. I think that it becomes means to control the outbreak of the sea disaster accident that psychological stress becomes the factor. As a result, I was able to clarify not only “relations of environment and the stress of the voyage sea area” but also “hull motion and the relations of the stress”.

Recently, for improving diesel engine power, fuel consumption and decreasing exhaust emission, high pressure injection system have been introduced. Common rail system is one method. In case of automobile or high rotation engine field, common rail system is important item for improving the power and fuel consumption. In shipping field, low rotation diesel engine is used especially for fuel consumption. If in shipping field, for improving power and fuel consumption and decreasing exhaust, it is necessary to verify whether high pressure injection is effective or not. This paper is one of research for compatible method on low rotation diesel engine. One result is acquired that high pressure injection system is not appropriate to improve that performance. As the low rotation engine, low pressure injection is better than high pressure for improving that performance.

About thirty years have passed since the author started coaching the table tennis club of our college. At first it was a “weak” club only to participate in the game, but we have made a great effort to achieve our goal with a big dream. As a result, we achieved the victory four times in the team competition at the national tournament of KOSEN. This paper deals with our table tennis club’s activities and its results for the last thirty years. One factor of our table tennis club's growth was that our club joined Kotairen (High School Athletic Federation) in 1994. There is no doubt that Kotairen has greatly stimulated our club activities. Other major factors are encounters and support with many table tennis officials such as students, parents, leaders, regional supporters and so on. The efforts of last thirty years show the author that students have a big power to make their dreams come true.

In learning the issue of motion and vibration of mechanical system, it is important, first, to establish the equation of motion, second, to know the essence of the various problems such as the natural frequency and the natural vibration mode, and so on. However, it is really very hard to understand these phenomena. For these reasons, the authors have developed the learning materials in this field. Specifically, they are the educational motion simulation software called DSS and the various experimental apparatuses for observing motion and vibration phenomena. In this research, as a complex system including both motion and vibration, we focused on the turning motion of a crane and developed an experimental apparatus. Moreover, we simulated the behavior of suspended load during turning motion with DSS, and compared experimental results with simulated ones.

The authors have developed several teaching materials for learners of motion and vibration problems in mechanical system. The first one is a teaching and training material to understand the relationship of displacement, speed and acceleration in the basic knowledge of dynamics. The second material is a software called DSS for motion and vibration simulation, which supports the sequence of operation by numerically solving the motion equation and displaying the analytical results graphically. The third one is an experimental teaching material, and we have already completed its fifteen experimental apparatuses. Furthermore, we have developed a learning program for motion and vibration with DSS to effectively use these teaching materials. In addition, in order to confirm the effectiveness of these teaching materials, we conducted educational practice using them. As a result, it was found that these educational materials are interesting and very useful for a wide range of learners such as junior high school students, high school students and college students.

In Japan, there are a lot of bridges connecting islands. Particularly in the Seto Inland Sea, several bridges are constructed near the narrow channels. When we pursue the safe operation of the vessels, we consider it important to analyze the masking features of the radar images of such bridges and the reflection intensity. In this study, we analyzed the features by the difference in the structure and the masking features along the direction of the width of the bridge and the reflection intensity about two bridges, in order to improve the safety of ships traffic. Conventionally, the radar reflection intensity of a small object such as a small ship has been evaluated by the maximum signal intensity in the image. In this study, we tried a new evaluation method for the radar reflection intensity of the connecting bridges those are huge and strong reflection structures, and we report the result.

Aichi Targets have been set for starting efficient actions by 2020 to maintain biodiversity in the living in harmony with nature. Among these targets, the necessity of our recognition about biodiversity value and behavior which we can take to conserve and use it sustainably, and the prevention of extinguishing or decreasing endangered species are also mentioned. Based on such movements, we have researched the endangered species on Osakikamijima, and reported them. This paper reports the successive observation results and the other rare species newly found after the previous paper.
