The present writers made a study under the declaired title in order to show how pupils' map-drawing, in which they display the most sprightly learning activity, differs according to their ages and how they recognize the concept of space when they draw a map. This study, at the same time, is done as a comparative work with the study of school children's ability to draw a map which the present writers made ten years ago and whose title was “Pupils' Map-Drawing-How Should the Education of Map-Drawing Be in Elementary School?” By grasping how pupils recognize the concept of space when they draw a map, the present writers tried to made clear the scientific basis for the learning of map in social studies and to define the position of the learning of map in the course of study of social studies.
