This study was made to pursue the variations within one day and the diurnal variations in the deep temperature of masticatory muscle.
Three male dental students, aged 20, 21, 26 years, were selected as normal subjects.
The deep temperature of right masseter muscle and forehead were recorded simultaneously and continuously through 24 hours.
The following results were obtained;
1) The deep temperature of forehead showed the typical pattern as the core temperature, but the deep temperature of right masseter muscle was different between individuals.
2) The measurement of muscle temperature between 3p.m. and 6 p.m. was adequate on the reproducibility.

This investigation was made to clarify the factors which had influences upon adhesive strength of the adhesion bridge to the enamel in the clinical conditions. Tension and shear force were applied onto the specimens for measuring the adhesion strength under the various conditions. The results obtained in this study were summarized as follows: 1) Film thickness of the resin and loading of 100 kg repeatedly on the adhesive resin effected onto the adhesive strength of the resin to enamel and Co-Cr dental alloy. The degree of influences varied, depending on the physical properties of the adhesive resin. 2) Even a slight movility in one abutment tooth decreased remarkably the retentive strength of the adhesion bridge. On the contrary, the movility of both abutment teeth increased it slightly. 3) The rotation force produced by applying load to the bucco-lingual direction decreased remarkably the retentive strength of the adhesion bridge compared with the vertical force.

As the parameters giving expression to a dispersion or reproducibility of some phenomena, standard deviation (SD), mean deviation (MD) and average variation (AV) were compared.
It is proved that MD is smaller than SD, and that SDMD ratio is fallen into a certain range of which borders depend upon only the sample numbers. Higher order-dependent nature of AV and fully order-independent nature of SD in data array are also discussed.
An application of AV seems to be better to restrict to particular cases in which the valuables should also have higher order-dependent nature.
