In this paper, we present a construction of a geometric continuity (G^1) surface which interpolates to position values and normal vectors of randomly distributed points in 3D. The method starts from a given triangulation, every triangle is split into twelve small tiangles and piecewise cubic Bezier triangular patches are used over triangles. The patches are C^1 continuous over each triangle. Two patches are G^1 continuous over two triangles which have common edges.

We propose a level set method using a signed distance function for the mean curvature flow problem. An effective numerical algorithm is developed, and some fundamental properties are analyzed. Reliability of the method is also confirmed through several numericl examples.

Symplectic Integrators are developed for Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation regarded as Hamiltonian system of infinite degree of freedom. First order symplectic integrator for Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation is known as the split step fourier method. Higher order symplectic integrators are easily derived and enable us to perform fast and accurate numerical simulations.

We investigate a condition number based on Enclidian norm of tridiagonal matrix which is obtained by discretizing Laplacian operator defined in one-dimensional general coordinate system. A particular stretching transformation of exponential function makes possible the analytical estimation of upper and lower bounds of the condition number. We also clarify the asymptotic behaviour of the condition number in large values of the transformation parameter, which shows the condition number comes close to the lower bound.

This paper presents a new method for two-dimensional image reconstruction by using a multilayer neural network. Though a conventionally used object function of such a neural network is composed of a sum of squared errors of the output data, we define an object function composed of a sum of squared residuals of an integral equation. By employing an appropriate numerical line integral for this integral equation, we can construct a neural network can be used for CT image reconstruction. We applied this method to some model problems and obtained satisfactory results.

Turncated SVD (Singular Value Decomposition) method and regularization method by SVD are effective for ill-conditiond linear operator equations with noisy data. A direct method by QR factorization[6]has proposed instead of the turncated SVD method which is computed by iterative method. We propose a new regularization method using QR factorization which requires far less computational cost than that of SVD. We apply the L-curve method for the choice of regularization parameter, which is often used to produce reasonable solution. We show that the new method gives good approximate solutions for the problem with far less computational cost in numerical examples.

This paper proposes an optimal order quantity model for special display goods at a retail store, where special display goods refer to merchandise which are heaped up in end displays or in special areas. It is empirically known that the special display goods tend to sell well if their quantity displayed is large, but do not when it becomes small. This study models such a behavior by an differential equation and formulates the total profit per unit time. The optimal lot size as well as the optimal inventory level to order are then discussed. Numerial examples are also presented to illustrate the proposed model.

Reverse Mortgage is a financial instrument which is watched with interest for inflection method of assets on aging society in the future. But the requirement of Reverse Mortgage which commercialized by trust bank is on the decrease, because the risk has become to clearly by the bubble collapse and evaluation value of coverage. In this paper, we would like to propose a new type of Reverse Mortgage. In this type financial institutions bears all contained risks, and customers pays insurance expense as collateral of guarantee with reviewing current scheme of Reverse Mortgage. We construct an evaluation model of new type of Reverse Mortgage.

This paper presents an axisymmetric numerical integration by using the boundary integral equation and the polyharmonia function. In conventional numerical integration, a given region is divided into several standard regions, for which a rule of approximate integration is available. However, it is difficult to decomposite a boundary region into elementary standard regions. Presented method does not require decomposition. This method requires a boundary geometry of the region and arbitrary internal points. The integral value is calculated after solving the discretized boundary integal equation. In order to investigate the efficiency of this method, several examples are given.
