In patient-specific arterial fluid-structure interaction (FSI) computations, the image-based artenal geometry comes from a configuration that is not stress-free We present a method for estimation of element-based zero-stress (ZS) state The method has three main components, and we present one of them. An element-based mappmg between the artenal and straight-tube configuration is used for mappmg from the artenal configuration to the straight-tube configuration, and for mapping the estimated ZS state of the straight tube back to the artenal configuration, to be used as the initial guess for the iterative method that matches the image-based target shape We present a set of test computations to show how the method works

The finite element method is commonly used to simulate sheet forming processes to improve machining accuracy For a sheet forming process, conventional shell element is not sufficient to simulate the complex behaviors, such as, the deformations of the sheet and the contact forces at the sheet-die interface In this work, we propose an approach that accounts for the changes of the stress distribution along through the thickness We introduce a displacement variation along the thickness direction and propose the structural element in which the distribution of a contact force and a deformation in the thickness direction is considered.

Drop Impact Simulation, Acceleration, Distortion, Explicit FEM, LS-DYNAAt first, in this paper, we confirmed the validity of the drop impact simulation technology of the package air conditioning outdoor unit by consistency having been observed in analysis results and test results of the acceleration of the compressor and motor Then, we performed narrowing of the packing proposals by comparing results of the drop impact analyses of the package air conditioning outdoor unit packed in various packing proposals As a result, a prototype test with the narrowed-down packing proposal that reduced the consumption of the EPS buffer material by 21% passed the standard at one time, and this greatly contributed to the efficiency and completeness improvement of the development Finally, we introduced together that the packing based on the simulation results of this paper won the Japan Star Award of Japan Packing Contest 2013
