This paper describes the analysis of coupling oscillation problems between the cell deformations and flow induced by propagating underwater shock waves. Actually the cells including cavitation bubbles are destroyed by using under water shock waves when the new shock wave DDS (Drug Delivery Systems) method is used. For this analysis, the capsules are modeled as liquid droplet including gas bubbles. By computation using ALE (Arbitrary Lagragian-Eulerian) Method, the coupling oscillation and bubble deformation process are analyzed. The results show that the effects of the acoustic impedance of the fluid media in water and motion of the shell is large for the deformation process.

This paper describes a numerical prediction method for hemolysis properties in orifice-pipe blood flows. In this study, several types of orifice-pipe flows by using two turbulence models are computed, which κ-ε model with partly patched Launder-Kato model (LK-Zonal model) to improve computational accuracy. Using these database, quantity of hemolysis is predicted by integrating (1) turbulent shear stress and (2) principal shear stress, and (3) maximum shear stress. It is concluded that the quantity of hemolysis could not be predicted accurately, although turbulent normal stress is comparable to the turbulent shear stress.

Mechanical property of bone is inhomogeneous especially between cortical and cancellous bone, and it also varies individual. So mechanical analysis considering inhomogeneous property of bone is necessary for patients oriented evaluation of bone in clinic. If the finite element method is used, mechanical analysis considering the bone inhomogenity is possible by giving a material property to an element one by one. So that, extreme fine meshing of finite elements is required. In this study, we improved the "ADVENTURE system", which had developed as a large-scale finite element analysis system, to be applicable to stress analysis of inhomogeneous bone problems. We applied the improved program to a composite beam model with graded material property and ensured its validity by comparing between the theoretical and calculated results. Furthermore, it was applied to stress analysis of proximal femur based on CT images and its efficiency was discussed.

In this paper, the author investigates efficient parallelizeation methods on SMP clu7ster. At first, the author compares the performance of three communication libraries, MPICH, LAM and MPICH-GM. Then, the efficiency of OpenMP is tested using some numerical examples. Finally, the author shows the best approach for the parallelization of the finite element flow analysis. code.

3D CAE becomes a key technology to complete a digital engineering system. "3D TIMON", developed by TORAY Industries, Inc., is the only software available in the market to analyze whole injecting molding process with solid elements and is capable of generating solid mesh models directly from 3D CAD data.
