Recently, the number of foot joint syndromes by an acquired transformation increases. Because loading condition and the structure of foot joint greatly influence them, the clarification of the mechanical property of foot joint is important. Especially, a flatfoot has a lot of patients as an acquired case. In this research, the bone in the arch of a normal foot and a flat foot was reproduced by three-dimensional model, the stress distribution was analyzed by the photoelastic investigation, and it made comparative study of them. The experiment analysis result showed the following things. The remarkable difference was seen by calcaneus. In ground plane, stress concentration caused the normal foot inside. Stress decreased as the normal foot went outside. On the whole, stress increased the flatfoot. And, reduction of the stress in an outside like a normal foot was not seen.

This research analyzed stress at contact surface of hub and hub bearing, and aim to simplified selling of design, optimization of manufacturing and maintenance. Experiment analysis made test piece model from automobile hub, and used stress freezing method. It analyzed stress of automobile hub with different contact condition by changing R of load point reconstructed structure of hub bearing. Numerical analysis used finite element method. It analyzed stress of an analytical model identical with experiment analysis by not reproducing contact condition. From both parties, it calculated stress concentration factor of contact with automobile hub and hub bearing. As a result, it proposed the approach to formulation and quantification.

Thermal fatigue of pipelines in nuclear power plants is caused by thermal stress due to temperature fluctuation. The cavity flow is one of typical flow patterns which cause the high-cycle thermal fatigue. It occurs in a branch pipe under the condition that the end of the branch pipe is closed by a valve and so on and the other edge is connected to main pipe. In order to evaluate a number of different piping systems on plants, establishing evaluation methods based on numerical simulation has been expected. In this study, analyses were conducted under the condition that main flow velocity is less than 5m/s with the aim of confirming the effects of main pipe velocity under isothermal condition.
