This study aims to explore the inhibitors and facilitators of social reform promotion by focusing on their relationship with subjective disparities, using the Personal Attitude Construct analysis. First, the following factors were identified as inhibitors of social reform: (1) attributing responsibility for subjective disparities to oneself, (2) deciding by majority rule, (3) experiencing unbalanced relationships in which “the majority accepts the minority, and the minority is accepted by the majority,” and (4) the existence normative stereotypes. Second, the following factors were identified as facilitators of social reform: (1) attributing responsibility for subjective disparities to society; (2) questioning the standards that define differences (superiority or inferiority); (3) having other-oriented motives, practicing reciprocity, and cooperating with those close to one's own; and (4) following the wave of the times.
