Negative-pressure wound therapy with instillation and dwelling(NPWTi-d)can be used for infected or contaminated wounds, which are not usually treated using standard NPWT. However, only a few reports have been published on the efficacy of NPWTi-d against infection. We retrospectively investigated CRP levels after the use NPWTi-d for the treatment of mildly to moderately infected chronic wounds. The CRP values were safe at the start of treatment. Our study suggested that NPWTi-d can be used for infected wounds as a bridge between debridement to prepare the wound bed.
