We made follow-up studies of 433 epileptic patients over 7 years (from April, 1969 to March, 1976) on the therapeutic effect of Saikokeishito. After taking Saikokeishito, 125 patients were clinically regarded to have recovered from epilepsy, and 79 patients had no more epileptic fits. This indicates that Saikokeishito was effective for 204 patients. The remaining 229 patients are those who stopped taking Saikokeishito from being opposed by their chief physicians or their family, or from their financial reasons. Thus, it is assured that Saikokeishito improves one's epileptic constitution, although the improvement of EEG generally comes after disappearance of epileptic fits.
