Introduction It is convenient that there is a way to look up the species, the fiber used and the finishing method of cloths in a web site by clicking only one word of "cloth".
In this study, we have tried to present the characteristics of cloths on the web site by linking of an Excel files of cloths after taking their photographs.
Methods 1) Present searching system of cloths upon investigation We have used the clothing library of Bunka Gakuen, Shinjuku. Real cloths could be searched and touched directly. However, there is a need to go there and a defect without the access through the internet.
By the way, in case of searching for the cloth, one click gives us to the way to the internet shopping site, however it can not be investigated the details of cloth above cited. For example, once searching the sites of Yahoo! Japan, infoseek and msn show an attractive and impressive image of cloth. However, the details and smoothness were not mentioned. Further, the characteristics of cloths were seldom indicated.
2) Making of the virtual library of the cloths on the web site The images of fifty cloths were taken by the digital still camera at the Kobato textiles, Kiryu. The database of tese images was used to make the virtual library of cloths by using a site of http://geocities.yahoo.co.jp/ and a html file (not shown here).
Results and discussions The virtual library of the cloths on the web site was made for the needs cited above. However, this library needs further revamp of the resulting html file for an easy to see and that of the additional cloths. Further, the making of these library is now under consideration for the facility of looking up the generals of clothing materials in a web site.

The purpose is clarifying the conditions which receive a used article for every generation. It is because that the degrees of likes and dislikes also differ to count on a used article by a generation. The investigation area was Hyogo Prefecture, Osaka Prefecture, and Kyoto Prefecture. Data was the reply obtained from 204 women's college students, 191 their mothers, and 166 their grandmothers using the five-step appraisal method. A factor analysis was used. The following factors were found: in case of women's college students, "low price", "everyday" and "suitable"; in case of their mothers, "low price", "yearning", and "boast"; and in case of their grandmothers, "low price", "comfortable" and a "substitute". As acceptance conditions over a used article, all the generations of the low price were common. Women's college students regard the used articles as smart, and this leads to their old-clothes boom. The factors called yearning and boast of their mothers are considered as the strong influences on their brand image. The factor comfortable related to their grandmothers results from the feeling that used goods are dirty from the beginning. In addition, the more the premium nature is high, the more I want to hide a new article in a closet substituting a used one.
