Executive function refers to the cognitive function to regulate one’s thoughts and actions to achieve specific goals.
This study was conducted to highlight effective methods of assessment and information that could be used to provide effective support (interventions) to individuals who face challenges related to executive function.
Specifically, by conducting research on support provided to individuals who face challenges related to executive function, as well as an analysis of vocational support programs, the subjects of this study were divided into three subgroups. Points of note regarding assessments and support (interventions) were provided for each subgroup.
The results of this study will help gain an accurate understanding of the actions taken by subjects while assisting the effective formation of hypotheses related to support.

This study highlighted the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in the workplace surrounding the exchange of information, as well as accommodations taken in the workplace in resolving such challenges and efforts taken by persons with disabilities. To this end, questionnaire surveys and interviews were conducted with corporations and persons with disabilities.
The following were the findings. First, perceptions surrounding difficulties related to information exchange between corporations and persons with disabilities were similar or different, depending on the disability type of employees. Considering the possibility that differences in perceptions may arise, initiatives taken by corporations to recognize difficulties faced by persons with disabilities, such as providing ample opportunities for communication on a day-to-day basis, were regarded as important. Second, in situations where work instructions were given, as well as those where other forms of information exchange took place, accommodations and efforts were made while considering the characteristics of the persons with disabilities involved, as well as each situation. Third, while the use of various online communication methods positively affected the exchange of information between persons with disabilities, superiors, and colleagues, the effectiveness of face-to-face communication was also recognized.

The results of employment support for persons with disabilities in regional areas are related to initiatives pertaining to the acquisition of a wide range of skills and knowledge, as well as initiatives taken by organizations regarding personnel training. However, these initiatives have not necessarily been verbalized or systematized as a common consensus held by stakeholders in the field of employment and welfare.
This study aims to contribute to the effective evaluation of the contents of employee training and enable employment support professionals and parties in charge of personnel training to strive toward a higher degree of expertise by having a common consensus. To this end, the study sheds light on the following: the verbalization and systematization of knowledge and skills necessary for effective employment support; the balance regarding on-the-job and employee training, as well as priorities related to the knowledge and skills required during the training of personnel that considers diverse conditions occurring in regional areas; specific details regarding initiatives taken at the organizational level with regard to personnel training.

The research project, Research on the Working Life Cycle of People with Disabilities, began in 2007. Over the period 2008-2023, the study was completed following the undertaking of eight research periods, with each period lasting for two years.
Utilizing the characteristics of the panel survey method throughout the eight research periods, this research report summarizes various analysis results that contribute to an understanding of the working life cycle of persons with disabilities.
Analysis was conducted on how employment rates, modes of employment, occupation, working hours, wages, bonuses, and reasons for working for persons with disabilities changed as individuals aged. These results are summarized based on age group (generation) and disability type. Furthermore, the effects of the increased severity of disabilities in middle and old age and the influence of the Great East Japan Earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic are shown, respectively. This report also organizes information pertaining to issues to be addressed.

This study elucidated the relationship between grades allocated on the mental disabilities certificate, the primary disorder of persons with disabilities, and the challenges faced by such individuals during employment. Herein, three surveys- a corporate survey, an on-site survey, and a survey targeting persons with disabilities-were conducted. Analysis was conducted regarding the implementation (or lack thereof) and effectiveness of, as well as the degree of burden incurred by, accommodations and measures related to employment management for persons with mental disabilities, in addition to various other employment conditions.
Notably, while the implementation (or lack thereof) and effectiveness of, as well as the degree of burden incurred by, accommodations and measures taken, were partially related to the primary disorders of individuals, no general tendencies were observed. Almost no relationship was observed regarding the grades provided on the certificate. Conversely, issues related to employment for subjects were prevalent, while initiatives related to accommodations and measures taken at the corporate level had a facilitative effect on their corresponding implementation undertaken by businesses on behalf of subjects.
