This paper presents a computer simulation study of natural wolfberry recognition based on color feature. We performed a computer simulation of the recognition between natural and sulfur-smoked wolfberries by using color classification for food safety. First, two types of images of the natural and sulfur-smoked wolfberries were collected in the Internet. These images were converted from RGB to CIELab color space and the color feature vectors were obtained by the combination of chromatic components. Then the color vectors of these two types of images were classified by the k-means clustering algorithm in the training process. By means of the color classification, the recognition between natural and sulfur-smoked wolfberries is performed. Simulation results showed that the proposed method provides a recognition rate of about 80% in the collected image dataset.

We investigate daily share prices of the Nikkei 225 stock index to identify jump times of the stock index using a jump-diffusion model which consists of the Black-Scholes model with a stochastic volatility and a compound Poisson process. Since the data of daily share prices of the Nikkei 225 stock index are observed at discrete times, it is difficult to find real jump-times from the data. In this paper we consider how to separate jump-times from the observed times. The volatility of the stock index is estimated by the historical volatility from the observation of some daily share prices. We also refer to the number of daily share prices for the historical volatility and show that the number is essential for the accuracy of the identification of jump times.

Fuzzy information such as human relation and opinion survey is effectively represented as fuzzy graph. However, it is very difficult to clarify the global structure of the fuzzy graph. As to this problem, Yamashita (1989) developed approximation algorithm method and we can significantly clarify its characteristics. One of the remaining challenges is a sequence analysis among nodes of the fuzzy graph. This paper proposes a new index “fuzzy core index” to represent the importance of each node in sequence analysis. At first, we introduce the overview of the approximate analysis, and secondly we propose the new index for sequence analysis. Finally, we show the effectiveness of the proposed index through case study.

In this paper we propose extended spatial interaction model permitting consideration of several path selection for each origin-destination pair. The spatial interaction model is known as a general model because it has been developed by entropy maximization principle. From observed data about traffic flow, our model can estimate traffic volume from origin to destination. It can be regarded as a merged concept between the geographical advantage and accessibility of the spatial interaction model in unified way. The parameter estimation procedure for the proposed model is developed. The availability of our model that can consider not only a network structure but also a traffic flow is shown.

We investigated the relations among gender, age, smoking information, and lifestyle-related disease (hypertension: HT, type 2 diabetes; DM, hyperlipidemia: HL, body mass index: BMI) in cases with cancer disease, using Diagnosis Procedure Combination survey data and a decision tree analysis performed with Chaid Method by using hyperlipidemia coexistence or not as a dependent variable. As a result, a decision tree was branched depending on the presences of HT. The rate of HL patients with HT was 3.2 times higher than the rate of patients without HT. Regardless of coexistence of hypertension, the HL rate in cases with liver cancer was low. In cases with cancer except liver, the HL rate was the highest in the patients with HT and BMI >24.1.

The relations to the length of stay (LOS) have been investigated among the ten hospitals, the departments, gender, age, the condition in hospitalization, using Diagnosis Procedure Combination survey data.The LOS index (LOS/average LOS) was calculated and the rates of patients number in which the value of LOS index was lower than 1.00 were estimated in each node with decision tree analysis. The rate of patients with shorter LOS than ALOS was lower in cases with introduction from other hospital than in cases without introduction. The affected items on LOS were as follows; a hospital, a department, the presence of introduction from the other hospital, agreement of administration disease and primary disease, scheduled hospitalization or not and so on.

Background: Olanzapine 10mg intramuscular injection (IM) is new generation antipsychotic injection. As typical antipsychotic injection, many researches of Haloperidol 5mg IM efficacy for the treatment of acute agitation have been done. This study, I tried to verify the efficacy of Olanzapine 10mg IM against acute agitated patients (n=40) compared with Haloperidol 5mg IM (n=30) and Diazepam 10mg IM (n=20) with scaling Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale Excited Components (PANSS-EC) as assessment of agitation and Drug Induced Extrapyramidal Symptoms Scale (DIEPSS) as assessment of adverse event after injection. Conclusion: Through this clinical study, I could indicate that Olanzapine 10mg IM had same efficacy compared with Haloperidol 5mg and significant higher efficacy than Diazepam 10mg to decrease PANSS-EC scores. I also could indicate the interesting and significant differences in DIEPSS. I will make presentation at a conference.

This paper describes effects of shock waves on chemotaxis by changing environmental conditions such as temperature and pressure ratio. To obtain the chemotaxis performance of neutrophil, the velocity of neutrophil is measured by dropping cytokine. In this paper, effects of temperature in the surrounding liquid and pressure ratio of shock wave on the velocities was investigated. After working 5 shock waves on the suspension liquid, the velocity was measured. It was found that the velocity in case of high temperature around the neutrophil is higher than that in case of low temperature. It was also found that there should be optimized strength of shock wave to obtain the highest velocity.

Fuzzy information concerning human relation is usually analyzed applying fuzzy theory.Applying the fuzzy graph and similarity graph, we could effectively analyze the fuzzy relations among the nodes. Here, Fuzzy Shapley Value [1] can indicate the importance of nodes in similarity analysis. In this paper, we would not only discuss a new index “fuzzy core index” which shows the important degree of nodes in sequence analysis, but also explain its practical effectiveness.

An interval fuzzy regression model can provide an intuitive understanding of a possibilistic system. Yabuuchi proposed a fuzzy robust regression model as its enhanced model. The model is constructed by maximizing the sum of the possibility grades derived from an obtained model and its data. However, the center of the data distribution may have some relationship with the centroid of the model. Therefore, the model was enhanced by using a centroid of an obtained model. In this study, two fuzzy robust regression models, one is possibility grade-based and another is centroid-based, are compared using numerical examples.

In this study we discuss a group sequential test for checking the difference between variances of two normal populations. Specifically, we construct repeated confidence boundaries for the group sequential test. Since it is difficult to determine them satisfying a specified significance level exactly, we determine conservative repeated confidence boundaries. We give simulation results regarding repeated confidence boundaries and power of the test.

We have proposed the method of the neural network based on quantum theory (wave equation and path integrals) of polaritons, and made some relation’s tools and descriptions for calculations for arbitrary neural circuits developed. The most important difference between the common (classical) neural network and quantum one existed in whether there were interferences between both systems. And concretely we showed how those quantum methods, whose system contained much interference, were applied to the Bayes’ theory, entropy of information theory, and the two-step neural network of multi channels. Moreover, when we attempt to practice that calculation on classical fuzzy probability and quantum amplitude, we immediately find that fuzzy probability is equivalent to Choquet integral. However, we recognize the difference between Choquet integral and path integral. As Choquet integral is always real number, but quantum integral means complex number. Thus, Choquet integral has sometimes divergence of integral values in spite of finite integral value of quantum computation.

Objects detection from an image is one of the basic problems of study in computer vision. In particular, moving objects detection is important, as they may be those to which one should pay attention in, e.g., walking or driving. This paper proposes a method of detecting moving objects by inferring backgrounds frame by frame. The proposed method can cope with dynamical change of the background including sudden illumination change. Experimental results show satisfactory performance of the proposed method.

In this study, we estimated the injury of the human body when the wheelchair collides with a wall hile driving. As a result, it was found that injury criteria for the crash to the wall from the front at a speed of m/s and 6km/s was safe within the reference value.

In this paper, we examine the anxiety at utilizing wheelchair. When the human use wheelchairs, from the influence of environment, the human feel a sense of unease. In particular, when the human go up slopes using wheelchairs, the human feel a sense of unease. The sense of unease is under influence of the organ of vision and the vestibular organ. In this thesis, when the human go up slopes using wheelchairs, whether or not, the declivity angle for human to feel the anxiety can be estimated by using brain waves of the human.

Monitoring cow behavior and performance plays an important role in dairy health and welfare management systems. Due to the increased number of elderly farm workers, the demands for automatic cow monitoring system become a key role. Moreover, the image based technology for a monitoring system is a promising technique because it is relatively low cost and easy to install. Thus in this paper, a simple and effective method for cow identification is introduced by using color information histogram based decision process. Specifically, the painted-marks are placed on all black-haired cows and video images are taken. Then the marked region is extracted by using the proposed method and histogram based features. Finally, the identification process is performed and some experimental results are shown by using self-collected database taken in the university dairy farm.

A complete medical checkup comprehensive health support tool "Dr. Ningen Dock" has been produced using the previously reported SOM visualization plane map.In addition to personal medical examination results evaluation, the tool has been also applicable to the mass medical examination data. The significance degree of each component was calculated only by once SOM learning where the Spherical Self-Organizing-Map (SSOM) was used for the analysis. This method was applied to a great deal of gene data of the breast cancer. Then, the relation between each gene and the breast cancer was examined. Finally, the method succeeded in 22 genetic extraction to be connected with breast cancer carcinogenesis from 831 genes.

This study, focusing on the situation of speech, is to clarify which of the three levels (low, average and high, along with the indices of blood pressure and anxiety) is adequate for before speech conditions. Introducing the fuzzy evaluation values, calculated thorough the application of the fuzzy reasoning, the correlations between those values and self- and mutual-evaluations for speech are analyzed. The significant correlation was observed in the average level, while no significance was found in low and high levels respectively.

Kume Island is located in 100 km to the west from the main island of Okinawa. The population is about 8,000 people, but every year, 100 people leave the island for the purpose of admission. Objective: The aim of the study is to reduce related symptoms of stomachache to meet the need for expert systems of Traditional Chinese Medicine which included different TCM specialist diagnostic experiences and least core symptoms using Rough Sets theory. Methods: Based on Rough Sets models, Rosetta is combination with the heuristic search algorithm allows core attributes selection and determination. The research used Rosetta to reduce symptoms based on 18 decision tables according to TCM syndrome differentiation theory. Results: We achieved 18 reduction symptoms sets for each syndrome differentiation of TCM and 30 core symptoms of stomachache based on Rough Sets theory and 279 TCM diagnosis cases. Conclusion: As an important concept of Rough Sets theory, attributes reduction provides “the most valuable symptoms” for different TCM stomachache syndromes. It is useful to attempt a kind of approach with good mathematical performance to reduce redundant symptoms for TCM syndrome differentiation.

A large number of Chinese ancient books provide important guidance for clinical practice. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) information system can help us to speed up the transformation of TCM knowledge from the books to the clinical practice. Traditional waterfall model driven by system function need the whole documents of development at the beginning. If the users make any changes in the period of development, it will bring so many extra works, so this kind of development model cannot fit the development without clear demand. Agile development pattern driven by data model can help us construct function models rapidly under the condition that the function demands cannot be defined exactly. Through continuous iteration, we can complete the construction of literature information system with high efficiency and high quality.

Faced with such a huge and rapidly growing amount of data, how to quickly and effectively obtain specific knowledge of the real needs out from the mass is a challenge faced by researchers. Researches in medical field are comparative few than other fields. Chinese medical text has its own unique characteristics, and we cannot copy the foreign NLP methods and technologies. This paper presents a method of processing medical unstructured text. The application results show that the proposed methods can effectively process semantization of medical unstructured text.
