This paper describes a multidimensional color vector quantization method by simultaneous treatment of L^*a^*b^* signals on the uniform color space and YIQ signals. In contrast to the previously proposed component type vector quantization method of each L^*a^*b^* or YIQ signals, required bits/pel can be reduced to about 0.8 or less under the same image qualities.

We developed a programming environment (PicPEn) to allow users with little or no programming background to take full advantage of the complex multi-processor architecture of the Picot system. The user can pAint a signal flowgraph on the screen just as if using a notepad. PicPEn will then automatically turn the desired application into a form which can be executed on Picot.
