Using the textbook edited by the JSME, a class for the third year students of the evening-course in the mechanical engineering department was tried. The ninety minutes classes for the trial were opened twice; the number of the students was nineteen. In the first day of the class the guidance was distributed and the students were grouped into five, so that each group consisted of three to four students. In the second day of the class the ten-minute lectures of each group were distributed by the students with computer software and the presentations were evaluated by the students themselves. The motivation and the self-study consciousness of the students were stimulated by researching the theme, discussing the contents, making the presentation materials, and distributing the short lectures. The values of the questionnaire (understanding of importance and necessity, interest of the subjects, and value of the class) were 3.6, 3.8, and 3.5 of ten each and the comments from the students were good.
