    帝人における特許・実用新案のコンピュータ管理は, 昭和55年から自社開発のオフラインシステムを用いて月次サイクルで運用してきたが, 社内業務のOA化による効率化推進および特許庁のペーパーレス計画への対応を目的として, 今回オンラインシステムの開発を行い, 昭和60年より, 効率的事務管理および体系的技術管理を目指して運用を開始した。その内容を紹介する。

    We propose a new direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation method of wideband signals. In several decades, many approaches to estimate DOA of wideband signal sources have been proposed. Test of orthogonality of projected subspaces (

    TOPS
    ) and Squared
    TOPS
    are the estimation algorithms to realize high resolution performance of closely spaced signal sources. These methods, however, are not suitable for DOA estimation of multiple signal sources, because the spatial spectrum calculated by Squared
    TOPS
    has some false peaks. Therefore, the authors have proposed the weighted squared
    TOPS
    (WS-
    TOPS
    ) to suppress these false peaks by modifying the orthogonality evaluation matrix, WS-
    TOPS
    also achieves better DOA estimation accuracy than that of Squared
    TOPS
    . On the other hand, WS-
    TOPS
    has a drawback, it requires high computational complexity. Our new method can realize good DOA estimation performance, which is better than that of Squared
    TOPS
    , with low computational complexity by reducing the size of orthogonality evaluation matrix and the number of subspaces to be used. Simulation results show that the new method can provide high resolution performance and high DOA estimation accuracy with low computational complexity.

    Optoelectronic logic operations were successfully demonstrated by triangular-barrier optoelectronic switch (

    has not only differential gain, bistable and latch characteristics simply by changing the bias voltages, but also high sensitivity and high gain. We first confirmed AND and OR operations using a single

    , and also realized NOT, NAND, NOR and XOR operations using dual
    TOPS
    without any optical or electrical reset signals. These logic operations by dual
    TOPS
    can be attained in the same electrical circuit configuration.

    In order to investigating combining ability of the inbred lines for grain yield and other traits, 10 F1 hybrids of maize with the 10 S7 parental lines and a control cultivar were studied in a randomized complete block design at Kermanshah Mahidasht stations in 2013. The yield and its component traits were measured. Analysis of variance showed significant differences in most traits measured at 1 %. Comparison of the mean showed significant differences between the hybrids were much greater than that resulted in lines. To screen good combination and high yield, topcross analysis showed, that the combination of production lines, KLM80039, KLM80043, KLM80044, KLM80049 and KLM80001 with the MO17 tester has a particular superiority and also was identified as high-performance genotypes and yield components to comparison with control varieties (704). This study suggested that the hybrids KLM80026 × MO17, KLM80039 × MO17, KLM80043 × MO17, KLM80049 × MO17 and KLM80001 × MO17 were promising single cross hybrids and could be used in the maize breeding program.

    Introduction/Purpose: This paper reports results from a study conducted to establish a Greek version of the Test of Performance Strategies (
    TOPS
    ), by Thomas, Murphy and Hardy (1999), for athletes with physical disability. Methods: The following steps were followed: a) bi-directional translation b) commentary by specialist athletic psychologists as well as by athletes with physical disability. Moreover, stability over time and structural validity were examined. Results: Test-retest correlations ranged from .83 to .98 and few cross loadings emerged when items of all possible pairs of factors were factor analysed. Conclusion: This version exhibited good internal consistency, temporal stability and structural validity. However the pattern of relations between the subscales was different than that of Thomas et al. Further, use of skills in practice was not related to the use of skills in competition.

    カテーテル留置法を用いた経静脈的塞栓術 (
    TOPS
    ) を施行した孤立性胃静脈瘤 (GV) 症例の長期予後について内視鏡的静脈瘤硬化療法 (EIS) 施行例と比較検討した.対象は肝癌非合併肝硬変例とし, 緊急例を除外した
    TOPS
    施行群20例, EIS施行群15例である.
    TOPS
    群の最長観察期間は76カ月, 平均観察期間36.1カ月, EIS群は同42カ月, 23.7カ月であった.
    TOPS
    群の観察期間中のGV再発率は0%であったが, EIS群では24カ月で22%, 41カ月で43%にGV再発を認めた.食道静脈瘤の再発率は36カ月で
    TOPS
    群は26%, EIS群で38%と有意差を認めなかったが, 再出血率では
    TOPS
    群で76カ月間で5%, EIS群で41カ月間に66%と有意に
    TOPS
    群が低率であった.生存率では両群に差を認めなかった.以上より
    TOPS
    はEISと比べ生存率の差はないが, GV再発率, 再出血率は極めて低率であり
    TOPS
    はGV症例においてQOLの点で優れた治療法と考えられた.

    This paper deals with deriving a simple linearized equation of motion for axisymmetric
    tops
    spinning on a table; the equation includes the effects of both friction and gravitation. The derived equation is a single second-order equation with complex number coefficients. The main variable is the inclination angle of the spinning axis, which is expressed by a single complex number. No Euler's angle is used. The precondition for linearization is that both the angular momentum vector and the spinning axis are close to the zenith direction. The friction is assumed to be viscous, and the friction torque can be expressed by using the height of the gravity center and the radius of the curvature at the contact point to the table. Two eigenvalues for the equation give a deep insight into the attitude behavior. The root-locus method was applied to explain the spinning motion stability of various axisymmetric bodies. An analytical solution for a horizontally suspended spinning top is given to show that the locus of the spinning axis is a trochoid.

    and sink depth height, then we compared the resulting equation to results of past experiments and research done to show what counter top height and sink depth height is currently most appropriate for use.

    This study was conducted to develop a numerical program to predict the effective height and width of a safety frame, or tip-over protective structure (
    TOPS
    ), for a three-wheeled agricultural carrier. To hasten program development, the main algorithm of computation in the original program for a tractor with protective structure laterally rolling over was not modified for this study. The target carrier was assumed to be safe when the successive rollover on the slope was prevented by the adoption of
    TOPS
    with sufficient height and width. Based on catalogue data of commercially available carrier, the accuracy of the developed program was investigated. Results showed a predicted height of
    TOPS
    that is reasonable with respect to the carrier dimensions. Then, a small carrier model was constructed to verify the accuracy of analysis by comparing the experimentally obtained result of overturning and the numerical result of the model carrier. Results showed that the developed program had qualitatively sufficient accuracy for predicting the
    TOPS
    height. For more precise prediction of the necessary
    TOPS
    height for three-wheeled agricultural carrier, a computer program based on the contact physics should be developed to include rolling or sliding of vehicles.

    ROPS (Roll-over Protective Structure) has been installed on every type of construction machine but excavator. It was thought that an excavator's work attachment which was like a big arm supported the whole machine and prevented it from rolling over. But it was wrong. Fatal incidents of excavator roll over counted the most in number among fatal accidents involving construction machines in Japan. This fact led us to make the standard of ROPS for excavator. Because of the uniqueness of the machine type, Existing ROPS standard did not fit to the excavator. After conducting actual roll over test and laboratory test, we came up with loading force and energy criteria for laboratory evaluation of ROPS, which were incorporated into ISO 12117-2 (Laboratoiy tests and performance requirements for protective structures of excavators).

    This paper presents an automatic extraction system (called
    TOPS
    -3D: Top Down Parallel Pattern Recognition System for 3D Images) of soft tissues from 3D MRI head images by using model driven analysis algorithm. As the construction of system
    TOPS
    we developed, two concepts have been considered in the design of system
    TOPS
    -3D. One is the system has a hierarchical structure of reasoning using model information in higher level, and the other is a parallel image processing structure is used to extract plural candidate regions for a destination entity. The new points of system
    TOPS
    -3D are as follows. (1) The
    TOPS
    -3D is a three-dimensional image analysis system including 3D model construction and 3D image processing techniques. (2) A technique is proposed to increase connectivity between knowledge processing in higher level and image processing in lower level. The technique is realized by applying opening operation of mathematical morphology, in which a structural model function defined in higher level by knowledge representation is immediately used to the filter function of opening operation as image processing in lower level. The system
    TOPS
    -3D applied to 3D MRI head images consists of three levels. First and second level are reasoning part, and third level is image processing part. In experiments, we applied 5 samples of 3D MRI head images with size 128×128×128 voxels to the system
    TOPS
    -3D to extract the regions of soft tissues such as cerebrum, cerebellum and brain stem. From the experimental results, the system is robust for variation of input data by using model information, and the position and shape of soft tissues are extracted corresponding to anatomical structure.

    This study investigates how children utilize "maintained" material environments in kindergarten classrooms. In this study, "maintained" material environments are spaces with regular exhibitions from teachers or spaces that children can utilize freely. This study explores how children play with

    tops
    that teachers introduced into this space. Although initially a new environment, the children soon adapted to playing there. Case study data were obtained by observing and recording the children playing with
    tops
    . Episodes were then generated from the data, and analyzed qualitatively. The results display two effects. First, children can utilize "maintained" material environments creatively, since a few of them enjoyed playing with
    tops
    outside the boundaries marked on the board. Second, various children moved away from the others to spend their free time playing with
    tops
    by themselves. These results suggest that teachers can design environments in the classroom that take into account the perspective of the "maintained" environment.

    私たちは高分解能光学センサデータから、林分の同質性区分、樹種別樹冠抽出法と樹頂点抽出法などをカスタマイズして、高精度の樹種別単木カウント法を開発した。研究目的は当該手法を用いて木曽赤沢ヒノキ林を対象に高価値なヒノキ上層木の抽出精度の検証である。調査地は長野県上松町木曽赤沢自然休養林約1000haである。現地調査は樹齢300年を超える木曽ヒノキ林の林分内容が異なる4ヶ所に各1haで実施した。全林毎木調査とプロット4角と上層木の立木位置をGPSで測位し、GISデータベース化した。使用した高分解能光学センサは4種類の人工衛星である。画像解析から林分の同質性区分解析により、高齢林分のみ抽出した。樹種別単木カウント法で作成した立木位置図と樹種別本数を4ヶ所の試験地ごとに集計し、全林毎木データと比較・検証した。当該手法は4種類の高分解能人工衛星データサのすべてに適用でき、Geoeye-1の抽出精度では上層木のヒノキで81.5~94.5%と高精度であった。当該手法は普及している人工衛星や航空機の光学センサデータから、地上調査を軽減し、極めて短期間に市町村の森林資源を高精度で算定し、森林管理に貢献することができる。

    Background:

    Recent epidemiology study shows that prevalence rate of diabetes is increases exponentially and it has been estimated that by 2040 approximately 642 million people will be diabetic worldwide. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is an acquired metabolic disorder with persistent hyperglycemia due to impaired insulin secretion and sensitivity, and accounts for 90-95 % cases of all diabetes. Besides, persistent hyperglycemia in diabetes results into severe chronic vascular complications responsible for morbidity and mortality. Herbals are always considered as a source of medicine for various ailments including diabetes. Flowering

    tops
    of Trifolium pretense is used in various conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, fever, cancer, diabetes and as blood purifier. It is also used as phytoestrogen therapy in postmopausal women. The aim of the present study was to evaluate antidiabetic effect of aqueous extract of flowering
    tops
    of Trifolium pratense (AE) in experimental model of type 2 diabetes.

    Method:

    Sprague Dawley rats were feed with high fat diet for two weeks before administration of low dose of streptozotocin to mimic type 2 diabetic condition in the experimental animals. The animals with blood glucose level greater than 16.7 mmol/l was considered diabetic and designated for the study. Aqueous extract of flowering

    tops
    of Trifolium pratense was administered at the dose of 250, 500 and 1000 mg/kg of body weight, orally for 28 days. Various parameters such as blood glucose, TG, TC, HDL-C, LDL-C, HbAc1%, insulin and OGTT were measured. Liver glycogen content, Histopathological and immunohistochemistry of pancreatic tissue were performed.

    Results:

    The results of the study represents that treatment with the AE remarkably decreased the elevated blood glucose (p < 0.001) in diabetic animals. Treatment with AE (p<0.001, p<0.01) significantly improved lipid profile in diabetic rats. Plasma insulin concentration was also reduced significantly (p<0.01) after treatment with AE in diabetic rats. Treatment with AE reduced glycohaemoglobin and insulin resistance significantly (p<0.001) and improved glucose tolerance in diabetic rats.

    Conclusion:

    The outcome of the study showed that aqueous extract of flowering

    tops
    of Trifolium pretense can be considered as therapeutic option to control hyperglycemia in type 2 diabetes mellitus.

    Catalytic oxidation using 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl(TEMPO)can be used to selectively convert primary hydroxyl groups in accessible regions of cellulose and hemicellulose molecules in pulp fibers into aldehyde and carboxy groups. Clear improvement of the wet tensile strength of handsheets prepared from a TEMPO-oxidized pulp(TOP)was previously demonstrated without the use of any wet strengthening agent. Moreover, the paper chemical contents added at the wet end and retained in the handsheets increased. However, the practical use of

    TOPs
    as raw materials in papermaking has not yet been sufficiently studied. In this study, the effects of refining
    TOPs
    on the resultant fiber morphologies and properties were investigated.
    TOPs
    with carboxy group contents of 0.42 and 0.86 mmol/g were prepared and refined to various levels using a PFI mill. The average fiber lengths of the
    TOPs
    decreased and their fines contents increased with increasing number of PFI revolutions; these results were similar to those for the original pulp. However, the freeness remarkably decreased and the water retention value significantly increased with increasing number of PFI revolutions compared with those of the refined original pulp. Moreover, the fibrillation behavior of the
    TOPs
    with refinement clearly differed from that of the original pulp in terms of the changes in pulp morphology and the amount of functional groups.

    MSWIRs (municipal solid waste incineration residues) contain the various substances such as heavy metals, minerals and
    TOPs
    (trace organic pollutants). The behavior of dissolved organic matter (DOM) is strongly related to the removal efficiency of pollutants in each process of leachate treatment facilities. This study is to characterize the DOM in leachates discharged from the outlets of each process in the leachate treatment facilities of final disposal site containing MSWIRs using the fractionation method. Total three final disposal sites were chosen for this study. The leachate samples for the each site were collected from the inlet and outlet of each functional unit in the treatment process. The samples were fractionated into 4 fractions. Hydrophobic fractions (Hpo-A, N) were more dominant than hydrophilic fractions (Hpi). The weight-average molecular weight of almost DOM fractions decreased with passing the treatment processes. The concentration of
    TOPs
    decreased with decreasing the concentration of DOM fraction in each process of facilities.
