Hot Melt Adhesive（HMA）are defined as “an adhesive that is coated in a molten state and adheres when it gets cooled” by JIS K 6080, and which are solvent-free type adhesive composed of various thermoplastic polymers. Therefore, they have great advantage excellent in high-speed productivity and suitable for the human or environment, it is widely used in a various industrial field, such as corrugated packaging, building materials, sanitary materials, and interior materials for automobile. This paper introduced an overview of various types of HMA, which are classified by base-polymer type. In addition, it explained that recent technological trends in high-performance HMA.
