Site reading is a key aspect in the initial studies of architectural design. The case study is conducted on six-year experience of undergraduate and graduate architectural design studios where significant efforts are given to the site reading and contextual analysis. The study is also conducted on experimental utilization of their outcomes in three exhibitions and other related activities. The results are examined in two ways: the educational effects and the merit in regional community development. The possibility of such educational program is discussed in relation to the recent social needs which the new architectural profession is expected to undertake.
