As the author has made clear in the previous publication, the plastosomes of the rabbit's liver cells, which have transformed into giant granules after 10 days' feeding with non-protein diet, do not completely lose the true nature of plastosomes, and this was demonstrated by the facts that they were stained by cristal violett in BENDA's mitochondria-staining, and that their form revived into normal ones by 16 days' feeding with protein-contained food.
However, whether these plastosomes revived completely into normal ones or not is still doubtfull, because the attitude of the plastosomes toward the metabolism of the cells are unknown. Therefore the author performed the following experiments with the rabbits which were fed protein-containing food for 16 days after 10 days' feeding with non-protein food; a) intravenous injection of 20cc of 50% glucose-solution, b) intravenous injection of 5% casein-digest and c) intramuscular injection of 4cc of 6% yanol (fat-solution).
The results obtained show that the transformation of these plastosomes are quite similar to that of the plastosomes in the normal liver cells. And this demonstrates positively that the plastosomes, revived morphologically into the normal form, are also revived functionally.
