A laser induced computer-aided fluorometer system is presented, which permits monitoring of the chlorophyll fluorescence induction kinetics at different wavelengths (488.2nm〜817.1nm regions) excited by a cw Ar laser (488nm, 514.5nm, 50mw). Since the newly developed measuring system has a diode arrayed rapid scanning spectroscopy [DARSS] detector with a image-intensifier, then we can detect time-resolved fluorescence spectcra of in vivo leaves of rice plants. The basic relationship between the vitality index (R value) and the chlorophyll content of rice leaf (GM value) in in vivo states has been detected. It is found that the R value is proportional to the GM value before the manuring additional fertilizer, although the ratioR/GM begins to change after manuring additional fertilizer. The R values relating to the position of leaves are also detected, when the position becomes lower, then the R value increases. Other results of measurments and features of DARSS system are given in detail.
