On 160 male students aged 16-17, their concern and interest on their health condition, physical fitness and their opinion about the effect of physical exercise on the health or their serf-evaluation on their own health condition and physical fitness were investigated by the questionnaire method. According to their self-evaluation of health condition, 12.5% of the students considered their own health condition to be "poor". And as to the level of their physical fitness, 34.4% of the students rated their own physical fitness "low" range. As criteria of evaluating health condition, "weakness" "vitality" and "recovery from fatique" were chosen more frequently. "Tolerable to long lasting physical exercise," "recovery from fatique" and "easy to be fatiqued" were considered as the criteria for the level of physical fitness. "Take adequate sleep," "adequate physical exercise" were most frequently listed as their conscious effort for the promotion of their health and physical fitness. "Regularity of living" was listed by 50% of the students as the effort they wish to include in the future. More than 97% of the students recognized the need of physical exercise. "To gain high level physical fitness," "to be relaxed physically and mentally" were most frequently chosen as the expected outcome of such exercise. As the reasons for not being able to take up more exercise, "lack of time" and "fatique" were pointed out most frequently.
