An automatic sampling apparatus was designed for the high temporal resolution analysis of groundwater at TCDP well. Anomalies in oxygen and hydrogen isotope were observed 1 month before the Nantou earthquake. The findings could be explained by the mixture between the different chemical concentrations from fluids and surrounding formations through water-rock interaction, which may be associated with pre-seismically induced changes of permeability.
