抄録
This article aims to present a new way to analyse the translation of subtitles from the semiologic point
of view. In the academic environment of Translation studies has not usually taken semiologic
perspectives, however, some classical definitions of European Semiology show us another view in
order to observe the cultural translation. From such semiologic perspectives, we can encounter the fact
that translators naturally take account of the cognitive and semiologic process of receivers in the target
culture. In this article, we observe the Japanese subtitles of the most well known Spanish director
Pedro Almodóvar’s films, as a consecuence, we will find out the relationship between European
Semiology and subtitle translation .
