Four hundred fifty one housewives classified age and occupation in three areas of Hyogo-ken were observed to survey the utilization of frozen food.
(1) The frozen food, especially half cooking foodstuffs, was consumed highly by the young generation for the purpose of reduction of housework.
The older generation has utilized the frozen food less than young generation because of anxiety about degradation of nutritional value and dislike to the taste of frozen food.
(2) Homefreezing is chiefly applied to freezing meat dish among the young generation who has no occupation.
The word of homefreezing was widely known among housewives in my country but it was not utilized as much as they know.
