Color of lips and skin of 100 Thai female students were measured with Konica Minolta Spectrophotometer CM512m3A. L* of lips color more or less stayed constant and distribution of 100 subjects covered a wide range of a*. L* of skin was always larger than that of lips, the averaged L*of skin being 56.5 and that of lips being 43.1. There was found no correlation between a* and a* or b* and b* in skin neither in lips. Spectral reflectance curves of skin and lips were compared among three examples of subjects and a deeper dip at around 560 nm due to melanin in lips than skin was evident in s white and tan skin. Lips colors were darker and redder in lips than in skin.
