This study focuses on the temporary wellbore security operation conducted in the Dai Hung (DH) field in the Nam Con Son basin, Vietnam. It explores the use of LockCem as a solution to prevent gas migration and accumulation through the valve system of the DH-3P Subsea Xmas tree. The pumping history of previous brine pumping attempts is examined, along with the objective and necessity of securing the wellbore to ensure the safety of the Floating Production Unit (FPU)-DH01 production. The execution plan and general methodology of the operation are outlined, including the required equipment and risk assessment. The study provides a detailed discussion of the LockCem solution, including the lab report and mixing procedure. Additionally, the operation procedure for LockCem, Viscous Pill, Musol A, and Retarded Fluids’ density and setting depth is presented. The study emphasizes the importance of well security in oil and gas production and demonstrates the effectiveness of LockCem technology in well killing. Moreover, it details the tubing required to set 200 m of LockCem at the bottom plug around 1652 m. LockCem technology kills wells and emphasizes the importance of well security in oil and gas production.
