Y1336 strain in Bacillus subtilis group is the active ingredient in a bio fungicide, originally BIOBAC WP in Taiwan, which has broad spectrum of performance. The strain is also registered and used as Bachista WP in Japan. The susceptibility of the strain to chemical pesticides was investigated on agar medium. Of 41 fungi- bactericides, 18 chemicals inhibited growth of the strain at concentrations registered for use in fields in Japan. In particular, triflumizole, fluazinum, copper chloride oxide hydrate, mancozeb, thiuram, propineb, captan, TPN and iminoctadine albesilate noticeably inhibited the growth. These 9 fungi- bactericides may interfere with effectiveness of the biocontrol agent including Y1336 strain. In 56 insecticides, 14 chemicals inhibited the growth at the registered concentrations, but not so noticeably as 9 fungi- bactericides mentioned above.
