We report a 73-year-old female who was finaly diagnosed as having a non B non C scar liver after 8 years following up. She initially admitted to our hospital in 1984 because of whole body itching and marked jaundice, her laboratory data were as follows : GPT 43mU/ml, GOT 84mU/ml, ALP 3.7Blu/l, HBsAg negative.
Laparoscopic finding showed the surface irregular with scattered patches and slight atrophy of right lobe. Massive hepatocyte necrosis was shown in biopsy specimen. After 8 years, the laparoscopic findings chaged to marked scar liver. Both serum HCV-RNA and HBV-DNA were negative by PCR.
This case is very suggestive in the sence that it shows the course of non B non C hepatitis leading to a marked scar liver.
