The standard method in Japan for low-flow discharge measurement is the two-point method using a single-point current meter at 20% and 80% of the water depth. However, wading into the water for measurements in fast-flowing rivers poses significant safety risks. To address this issue, we have developed a compact, lightweight, and high- powered ADCP-equipped remote-controlled boat optimized for low-flow discharge measurement. Compared to conventional methods, this system enhances safety, reduces manpower requirements, and improves operational efficiency. In addition, we demonstrate its applicability to 3D riverbed topographic surveys in areas with fast flow and shallow water.
