Magnetoresistance, magnetostriction and magnetic induction in Mn-ferrite and Co-Fe-ferrite single crystals grown by Bridgemann method have been measured at room temperature.
The remarkable changes in qualitative feature observed in both magnetoresistance and magnetostriction measurements correspond to the change in magnetization processes ; domain wall motion, rotation and saturation. The changes are dominant at rotation region, where Δρ>0 for H||i and Δρ<0 for H⊥i in Mn-ferrite, but in Co-Fe-ferrite Δρ<0 for H||i and Δρ>0 for H⊥i. Δρ/ρ
0 is nearly proportional to Δl/l
0 in both ferrites but in rotation region the sign of the proportional constant is different for the differtent kind of ferrites.
The field annealing effects on the magnetoresistance and magnetostriction have also been experimentally studied in Co-Fe ferrite, proving the intimate relation between magnetoresistance & magnetostriction.
