This study was aimed to clarify how the frequency of play is considered with recess time, school time and daily level of physical activity and perceived exercise competence, and to clarify the relationship between achievement of the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity and level of physical activity.
The results were as follows:
1.Before the start of classes, there was no difference in the amount of physical activity due to the frequency of play in the number of steps and LC4-9 hours. However, the group with a high frequency of play showed a higher level of physical activity during the recess between classes and the lunch recess time.
2.The ratio of the physical activity time occupied in recess time tended to be higher in the group with the more frequency of the play.
3.In terms of the relationship with perceived exercise competence, significant differences were seen between the different frequencies of play in “recognition of physical competence,” “sense of control” and “sense of acceptance.”
The aforementioned findings suggested that increasing the frequency of play with physical activity during recess time increases the level of physical activity, leads to achievement of the recommended time of physical activity, and enhances perceived exercise competence feeling.
