The electrical storage device for the bicycle with the motor was made aiming to replace the lead-acid battery used for the no power failure device and the car, etc. with an electric double layer capacitor excellent in the points of the number of charge-discharge cycle and the disposal process. The ignition of the engine by the starter became possible by connecting the sets of series electric double layer capacitors with low allowable voltage in parallel. The self-discharge rate is 8.1%day, which is high compared with the lead-acid battery. The practical use can be expected if the electrical self-discharge rate is improved.

This paper describes the method to let oysters open the shells spontaneously, in order to reduce the labor load of the shucking operation. Oysters were soaked is salt water of 20℃ and were exposed to mechanical vibration of 10Hz-100Hz. And then, the oysters were leaved at rest for several minutes. So the adductor muscles of the oysters relaxes and most of their shells were opened. Through those experiments, it was found that the maximum shell opening ratio was obtained with around 50Hz. Furthermore, it was found that, after the opened oysters shells were took out from the salt water and were placed in the air, some oysters opened shells more widely and didn’t close the shells again even if any stimulation added.

The paper reports the RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification)radio propagation experiment. We use access control to the RFID in the welfare facilities for the aged. By performing precise access control with the RFID, the resident is safety and staffs are able to work with peace of mind. Through these experiments, our goal is to obtain knowledge of RFID for proper installation. In this paper, the experiment is carried out in the hallway of building where is similar to the situation of the welfare facilities for the aged. There are harmful interference to radio propagation such as entrance door, iron door, Aluminum sash and etc. Measuring location is on a horizontal plane at a distance every 1 m, height 0.5m. 1m and 1.5m.

This paper reports how to adjust the multi-axial stress testing machine transferred from Tokyo Institute of Technology to our college. Oil pressure controller, such as servo amplifiers, and various were purchased, and installation tool parts were fabricated in our college factory. Moreover, signal generator and clip-on displacement detector were also made by our own hands. In addition, experiment program were designed by us. After each instrument set up and machine operation conferment, exploratory experiment were carried out, which resulted in establishing experiment method for this testing machine.

In order to make an electronic measurement with precise reproduction capability, measuring circuit which is used in the experiment, must be accurate, and disturbance influence must also be reduced. This time, an experimental temperature-controlled bath has been produced for reduction of temperature change surrounding measurement circuit, among disturbances: electric field, magnetic field and temperature change. The performance of our temperature-controlled bath is as follows; Step response to the set point of the temperature in the bath shows first-order lag. Time constant τ=630〔s〕. Within the bath, temperature change has been reduced to 0.1〔℃〕, one twenty-eight lower than temperature change 2.8〔℃〕around the bath.

In this research, we have developed a lecture supporting system using the wireless network with the ZigBee. We used to education the ZigBee which was developed as industrial use. The main purposes of this research are assistance of a lecture of this college. The teacher can get the degree of comprehension of the lecture and the answer to a question from the class students during session by using this system. The teacher can check these responses on the screen of this system. We considered the practical use to an efficient lesson by using the data from this system. Therefore, we have needed to implement this system to be more functional, smaller in size and of a lower cost.

In our Electronic Control Engineering Department, the practical basic technology is emphasized on the fields concerning electricity & electronics, measurement & control, information (computer) and machinery, and the students are educated to be engineers who have faculty and creativity for manufacture (Monozukuri). From this point of view, we have an educational system of hands-on practice for the fourth-year students. They make their choice of subjects, prepare the parts and assemble the products, and make the presentation and exhibition of the products. In this paper, Ball Speedometer” is given as an example among the practice subjects for fourth-year students. The content and procedure of the subject have been introduced and the educational effect has been discussed in light of the aim of our department.

This paper proposes a way of reducing the number of colors contained a JPEG image and remove block noise at the same time. The main purpose of this research in converting a kind of color images, such as Tokyo Metro map, to gray scale ones. When a color image is converted to gray scale one, two different colors are not always converted to different gray levels because of the small number of possible levels in the gray scale image. When the number of colors in color image is appropriately small, we can assign different gray level for each color than convent it to gray scale image without any information loss. However JPEC images usually contain noise, so called block noise. In this case, before converting, we have to remove noise and reduce the number of colors.

We study a technique to magnetize a large-sized high temperature superconductor bulk magnet by a pulse magnetic field efficiently. When we added voltage of up to 1.5 kV to magnetization coil cooled by liquid nitrogen or neon, we may flow electric current to 10 kA to the coil. However, isolation voltage of mass-produced IGBT for high voltage and large electric current application is limited to 1.7 kV. The snubber circuit must suppress a high voltage impulse noise when the current flows to use a pulse magnetizer by high voltage output. In this paper, we report the design of an available electric discharge circuit by high power through discussion of devices and circuitry.

We developed an electronic kit at school visit in various exhibitions. Junior high school students can fabricate the electronic kit during approximately 1-2 hours. The electronic kit, which is called “Edge Light Illumination”, lights up fascinatingly the acrylic laser sculptured crystal with 7-colors. The fantastic light is emitted by 1-chip 3LED, and it is controlled by a PIC microcontroller. The light pattern of the 7-coloers LED light can be programed. In a open lecture at the last summer, our electronic kit gave the satisfaction that was enough to them. In this paper, we introduce about our kit housed in a small metal case.
