Calixarenes prepared by condensation reaction of p-alkylphenols are typical macrocyclic host compounds. They exhibit specific structural effects for a certain metal ions as a guest. In this article, the specific sturactural effects of calixarene derivatives containing size-fitting effect, converging effect of functional groups, allosteric effect, and complementary effect elucidated as a comparison with the results for the corresponding monomeric derivatives are introduced.
We have developed sold ionic exchange resins as active pharmaceutical ingredients for prescription drug products such as hyperkalemia improvement drugs and hypocholesterolemic drugs, and also excipients for pharmaceutical drug products. We report our achievement for active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients.
