In this study, an environmental drone measurement system for monitoring the vertical profile of air pollutants and meteorological variables was created. In the cold season, we observed the formation of a near surface strong temperature inversion in all cases. In some of the cases, increases of PM2.5 and black carbon concentrations were observed in association with an early morning peak of commuting traffic. The presence of an upper-level temperature inversion may cause accumulation of air pollutants emitted from near the ground.
