The demand for cemented carbide tooling is increasing. However, grinding wheel wear is a critical issue for many manufacturers. In this study, a new ultrafine bubble (UFB) generator was developed and its effects on grinding of cemented carbide were examined. The experimental results clarified that about 10% of the normal grinding force was reduced in surface grinding, the dressing interval was increased by more than threefold, and the grinding ratio was increased by more than twofold in inner grinding using the UFB coolant system.
