This study examines the process of working toward community-based clinical psychology support in local child care support facilities. The case is divided into three stages. The first involved active volunteer participation, and the third involved group activities (four sessions of fifty minutes; eleven members). It was suggested that it was effective to form connections with staff members and mothers by recognizing and practicing expected roles. At the same time, we should continue collecting and transmitting information. In addition, for the psychologist to develop child care support networks in a particular area, he/she must become a member of the local community and be connected to clients and staff, which lays the foundation of psychotherapy practice. Group activities were aimed at forming a relationship and encouraging interaction between the users of child care support facilities; these activities seemed to be an opportunity to deepen exchanges between participants. Some important points about the group’s frames were shown, and it is necessary for group activity to be improved.

Effect of experiencing volunteer activities on local government workers was investigated. A survey was conducted with local government workers in Azumino city that participated in volunteer activities at Shinshu-Azumino half marathon in 2014. Time-series data were collected from the volunteers (N=155) at two time points, before and after the experience of volunteering. Path analysis indicated a high level of motivation for volunteering after the experience, which promoted not only the intention to do the same volunteer activity again, but also the intention to do volunteer activities in general. A different path analysis indicated that fulfillment resulting from volunteering enhanced the willingness for coproduction with citizens in future administrative work. Moreover, the fulfillment from volunteering was positively influenced by a high level of attachment to the local community, which was one factor in the psychological sense of community. Willingness for coproduction with citizens before the experience of volunteering also enhanced the willingness for coproduction after the experience.

Playing sports occupies an important place in the life of elementary school children, and community sports, mainly conducted by volunteers, plays a significant role in this respect. Parents’ involvement, such as by taking turns in performing club duties, attending club activities with their children, and securing training grounds, among others, is indispensable for running community sports clubs. Through such activities, parents get involved in different interpersonal relationships with coaches, players, other parents, and their children. This study investigated the style of sport parenting of elementary school children playing community sports, which have not been much investigated to date. First, characteristics of parents with children who are athletes were examined. Next, positive and negative aspects of relationships between parents and coaches, as well as among parents were discussed. Excessive interference in relationships between parents and children were also discussed, by using the concepts of identification and narcissism. Finally, desirable attitudes for parents involved in children’s sports activities were discussed. It is suggested that there is a need to better understand the situation related to community sports activities, to cooperate with coaches, to clarify role-sharing among parents, and for parents to keep an appropriate distance from their children. Furthermore, the development of a psycho-educational program for parents was discussed.
