The hydrogen and oxygen fuel pipes, electric power line and exhaust heat output line of fuel cell co-generations for individual houses are connected, and cooperation operation is carried out. The energy demand pattern of the individual house in Tokyo was introduced, and the analysis method aiming at minimization of the operation cost by the genetic algorithm was described. The fuel cell network system of an analysis example assumed connecting the fuel cell co-generation of five houses. Compared with the energy supply method of the conventional system, the amount curtailment of consumption of 9% of city gas estimated at the maximum by the energy supply of the fuel cell network system from the result of analysis. 2% of this is an effect when introducing water electrolysis operation by fuel cells, and using the method corresponding to partial load operation of fuel cell co-generation.

Recently, hydrocarbon system refrigerant isobutane (R600a) began to be carried in household refrigerator. The proper processing technology of isobutane is required in order to prepare for recycling of the refrigerator. Isobutane below the flammable range is oxidized to CO_2 and H_2O by using a palladium catalyst. Temperature to which all isobutane is oxidized becomes high under increasing of premixture concentration and space velocity. The oxidation characteristic of isobutane does not get worse on the conditions which Exhaust Gas Recirculation performed.

Gaseous Ammonia treating equipment has been developed in order to keep the good environmental condition of enclosed sea area (i.e., Tokyo Bay, Ise Bay, etc.), because the Ministry of Environment introduced new regulation concerning the amount of nitrogen compounds discharged from sources of drainage, started from April, 2004. We had formerly washed inside of ammonia tank in thermal power station under performing a scheduled maintenance, so that the drainage containing ammonia with low concentration had discharged. However, our new equipment can be achieved non-drainage, because the equipment can directly decompose gaseous ammonia in ammonia tank with new redox catalyst. In addition, the process shows the low concentration of gaseous ammonia less than 5 ppm in flue gas from catalyzer, and the low concentration of nitrogen oxide less than 10 ppm. Furthermore, we have also succeeded in minimization of our equipment by adopting the new catalyst.

The chaos wave calculated from a map function is added with the chaos wave shifting time step, and it has been shown that the frequency disappears by being dependent on 1/2 Hz from the FFT analysis of chaos wave. Its frequency distribution form agrees with it of the standard chaos wave with increasing shifting number. The frequency of (1/2) × (1/n) × (odd number) which fades away, is increased in order, and the triangle frequency distribution is formed with respect to the frequency of (1/2) × (1/n) × (odd number) Where n is shifting number of time, and 2n is period. As described above, it is possible to take out the period component which is included in the chaos wave, and as the natural number are composed by even number and odd number, it is also found that all natural numbers are included in the chaos wave.

A Vibration experiment was conducted with 1/10 reduced scale model of a large scale cylindrical water storage tank. The experiment was carried out by sinusoidal excitation changing the input level from lower ranges to high ranges in order to investigate the non-linearity of responses. Comparing the experiment with FEM analysis, the dependence of fluid pressure responses on the magnitude of input acceleration and the inconsistency between the positive and negative pressure distributions were observed. These phenomena are thought to be explainable by taking the effect of the ovaling vibration into consideration.

Recently, it has been reported that the rupture of the piping in an earthquake is produced not by momentary large load but by the cumulative fatigue damage. Then it is expected that the rupture of the equipment and the piping that has high natural frequency is also caused cumulative fatigue damage. Therefore it is very important to grasp this effect accurately arid contribute for developments of evaluation technique and design technique. In this study, the vibration response of mechanical structure that is caused by the vibration disturbance that have high natural frequency is investigated from the viewpoint of energy balance that is effective for seismic analysis.

At present, mechanical structures in the nuclear power plants such as equipments or piping that have high natural frequency are basically assumed to be rigid body, and are designed by applying static method. In the meantime it is also" expected that the rupture of the equipment and the piping that has high natural frequency is caused cumulative fatigue damage. Therefore the investigations into the vibration characteristics and the rupture properties of the mechanical structures at high frequency band are important. In the 1st report of this study, vibration characteristics at high frequency band are investigated by numerical analysis and energy balance. In this 2nd report, experiment on the model that has natural frequency of high band is reported.

An approximate analytical method is developed for estimating the response distribution of a Duffing oscillator subjected to narrow band random excitation when the jump phenomenon occurs. Using the condition of multiple amplitudes of the stationary response under harmonic excitation, the bifurcation condition which divides the response into large and small amplitude state is evaluated and the probability of each state is derived. The local probability density function of each state is obtained by employing the equivalent linearization method, and the probability density function of the overall response is derived by sum of these local probability density functions weighted with the probability of each state. In the illustrative example, the calculated probability density functions are compared with the Monte Carlo simulation results.

This paper deals with nonlinear vibration of a continuum system with gaps under random waves considered collision phenomena. In order to investigate this nonlinear vibration characteristic, experiments are carried out with an experimental apparatus consisting of a nonlinear vibration system. An analytical model is proposed based on the restoring force characteristics in the experiments. This analytical model is used for the simulation analysis. Then results show differences between the experiment and the simulation in the R.M.S. value of the response acceleration. In order to investigate this cause, an experimental apparatus for the collision effect is made. Experiments are carried out with this apparatus. It is found that the energy dissipated by collision phenomena causes these results. The with the experimental results.

This paper deals with impact vibration in a mass-spring system for two-degree-of-freedom excited by periodic force. The analytical model is steady impact vibration with two masses in which one mass is subjected to an exciting vibration, and the elastic collision is done to the another mass. In order to analyze resulting vibration for the 2nd order superhamonic resonance, the Fourier series method is applid for this system. Next, following the theoretical analysis, numerical calcurations are performed, and the resonance curves for 2nd order superhamonic resonance are made using resulting vibration. The analytical results are in a fairy good agreement with the simulated ones.

This paper deals with transient vibration approximated by periodic vibration due to repeated impulse. The analytical model is transient vibration in spring-mass system with damping, hi order to clarify the resulting vibration subjected to repeated impulse exciting force, the transient vibration is analyzed using the Fourier series method to the system t which is proposed by the authors. Following the theoretical analyses, numerical calculation are performed, and the waveforms of transient vibration are made using numerical results of the insoculating and the Fourier series method. Effects of the viscous damping ratio, the natural circular frequency and the aspect ratio of impulse on the waveform of transient vibration are shown by numerical results and experimental ones. The numerical results are in a fairly good agreement with the experimental ones.

A simple series hybrid power system composed of passive-type polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFC) and electric double-layer capacitors was applied to a lightweight electric vehicle. In order to numerically simulate the behavior of the hybrid system, an electrochemical model of the passive-type PEFC was formed. It was confirmed that the simulation model including this PEFC model was able to represent the dynamic behavior of the system in the experiment on a fixed apparatus reasonably well.

In this paper, a simulator of the fluid bed gasification system using the woody biomass was proposed as a virtual plant on the computer. This is a simple model of lumped constant system composed of the decomposition model, the mass model, the flow model, and the energy model. These are programmed to PC by using MATLAB/Simulink, and simulation studies performed the whole check of operation.

In the blood pressure measurement, the auscultatory method that is standard and an easier method using the automatic sphygmomanometer are used widely. It is known that the measurement results by the two methods above are sometimes rather different. In order to investigate the difference, a linear model with single degree of freedom was made for the structure from the blood vessel wall to the cuff in this study. The model has time varying coefficients because the blood vessel expands and contracts periodically and the method to identify them was also proposed. The coefficients calculated by using the experimental data showed periodic tendency.

Dynamic simulation of flexible multibody system with the hydraulic drive is presented for the digging operation of the hydraulic excavator. The energy saving technology is required on the construction machinery design from the present environmental point of view, and the dynamic simulation is useful for the energy saving evaluation. The digging operation of the hydraulic excavator involves the dynamics of linkage system and the hydraulic drive system that includes nonlinear characteristics such as the check valve and so on. New numerical analysis method is presented for the coupling system of the linkage system and the hydraulic system, which consists of the time increment prediction method on piecewise-linear characteristics and the bisection method in Newton method. It is shown that this method is useful for the dynamic simulation of the flexible multibody system with the hydraulic drive by appling to the simulation of digging operation on the hydraulic excavator.

By using differential algebraic equations (DAE), this paper proposes and analyzes the conditions of constraints between mobile objects. We examine the motion and vibration of the coupled vehicles by using a rollercoaster as a model. In the simulation, we propose 2 methods of constraints, geometric conditions and dynamic conditions. Adopting the above-mentioned method, the difference of vibration response among vehicles, and the influence of air resistance are investigated.

This research aims at reducing unbalance vibrations, which have bad influence on the performance of a rotary machine, on the resonance frequency for the overhung rotor system with actively flexible pedestal. There-fore, in this model, the control system is designed by using the optimal regulator theory. Performing seismic experiments, it is very important to excite test specimens precisely with the input seismic waves that are used in earthquake-proof design. However, the actual exciting seismic wave become different from the target wave due to the interaction between the shaking table dynamic characteristics and the test specimen vibrational characteristics. Though there have been several countermeasuring methods, they always require the pre-excitation as off-line control. So, in this paper we developed the new control method by using quadratic stabilizer for non-linear test model as on-line control. This method is proved to be effective by numerical parameter studies.

A method is proposed to estimate the sway angel by minimal-order observer using data from an angular velocity sensor mounted on the load. (1) Some parameters which are difficult to identify exist in the crane system. The matrix L which controls an observer is constructed so as not to be influenced by these parameters. (2) The measured angular velocity includes a higher frequency vibration caused by the pitching motion of the load. The pole of the observer is set to minimize this influence. The observer designed in this way is valid for the estimation of the sway angle using angular velocity sensor output.

This paper proposes a new type of absolute Displacement and Velocity Sensor based on the principle of servomechanism. The row natural frequency of the sensor is realized by using a positive feedback of relative displacement and velocity signal and a negative feedback of relative acceleration signals between the measured object and the inner mass of the sensor. It is shown that the sensor with small size and lightweight can have a low frequency measuring range. In addition the negative feedback of relative acceleration signal can expand the measuring displacement range.

We have developed a pressure sensor capable of measuring the high-frequency micro-pressure changes that occur on the surface of a moving vehicle. Intended as a tool for conducting aerodynamic noise analyses, the sensor adopts a special sensing structure with a built-in semiconductor. The sensor is only 1.3 mm thick and 13 mm in its outer dimensions. This thin, compact size allows it to be attached to the body surface without disturbing the airflow around the vehicle.

We propose new types of guidance control method to let a wheelchair follow an assistance dog by detecting relative velocity and angle between them. In this guidance control method, electric wheelchair employs the guidance unit that is composed of a long lead and a winder on the tip of left armrest. The tip of the lead is connected with the harness worn to ah assistance dog. Hence, the lead is reeled out or in as the relative position is changing between the assistance dog in walk, the length and the direction angle of the lead are detected by two potentiometers in the guidance unit. Both translational signal and rotational signals used to control the electric wheelchair are generated by these two detected information. In this report, we described an opinion about an adjustment of the control system by some results of simulated experiment.

This paper describes the way to estimate the exciting force of the DG motor by measuring the leakage flux. At first, we examined the effective position which measured the leakage flux, because the excitation force of the DC motor is mainly due to the current. Next, we calculated the frequency characteristics of the leakage flux and excitation force and it was confirmed that the equal frequency component appeared. Then, we measured the leakage flux and excitation force at the same time, and compare their level. As the result, the radial exciting force can be estimated to some extent by measuring the leakage flux in symmetrical position and taking the difference of them.

This paper describes a new method of structural design for low noise and low vibration using Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA). SEA is used for high frequency analysis in the various fields of noise and vibration prediction. The structural design process using SEA proposed is, (1) an SEA model is constructed, (2) the power input under the real operating condition is identified using the built SEA model, (3) SEA parameters as to the energy fluctuation for each subsystems are extracted, (4) analysis of structural design by FEM is considered It is shown that that process was effective for developing the structural design of an Auto document feeder (ADF).

A multilayer (ML) plate/shell finite element (FE) has been developed for free vibration and damping analysis of composite laminates with delaminations. In the present FE formulation, the penalty method is invoked for modeling the un-delaminated/delaminated states at the lamina interfaces. By using the developed FE program, natural resonant frequencies, modal shapes and modal loss factors in the broad range of frequency for CFRP quasi-isotropic cantilever beams with a single delamination introduced at the central interface were numerically obtained and compared to the existing experimental results.

In the loading test of the pile, it is well known that the static loading test system can obtain the most desirable test result. This test system, however, the equipment becomes a large scale, and it takes along testing time to obtain a test data. Knock control has been spread through spark-ignition engines, in order to keep ignition timing the optimal for fuel economy. However, there is a problem that performances will fall at the time of acceleration and air-fuel ratio changing. The reason is in the delay of knock detection. In a lean-burn engine, the influence is large. In this paper, wavelet transform was applied to processing knock signals. Moreover, a new method was proposed and the scale-power spectrum was compared in plural resonant-vibration modes at the same crank angle. The pressure signal was measured with a 4-cycle engine and it was sampled at high speed and taken in by PC. As results of carrying out off-line analysis, the prospect which knock can be detected knock in one- combustion cycle was acquired.

In planning and designing vehicles and structures, analytical method of estimating and evaluating motion sickness are desirable characteristics with respect to riding quality or habitability. In the present paper, an analytical method of motion sickness evaluation based on the ISO standard was investigated for practical use. The evaluation formula of the motion sickness dose value (MSDV) was derived for physiological incidences of motion sickness including vomiting. The effect of several mathematical wave patterns of acceleration and oscillating period on non-dimensional MSDV was discussed. A computer program applicable to practical analysis of MSDV was developed from acceleration measured records of the existing vehicles. Some example of analysis for motion sickness was demonstrated.

We proposed and designed a shock absorber with magnetorheological fluid that is a material that responds to an applied magnetic field and changes its apparent viscosity. We did a trial production and experiments about this MR shock absorber using a drop test. The drop test has the condition that the mass of a falling body is less than 40kg and the collision speed of the falling body is less than or equal to 2.5m/s. In this paper, result of the examinations of the shock absorber are reported about several subjects on the resisting force of the shock absorber, such as an effect of the applied electric current, an influence of the height of the falling body, an improvement of the resisting force by the applied electric. As the result of this study, it is obvious that this trial shock absorber is a semi-active one which can vary its resisting force corresponding with the variation of the mass of a falling body.

Damping property if a rubber vibration isolator is investigated experimentally. A rubber vibration isolator is loaded periodically with various amplitudes and various frequencies, and load, deflection and velocity of the rubber are measured. Measured data are analyzed by non-parametric identification technique in time domain, and damping force is obtained as a function of velocity and deflection. It is shown by analysis results that the damping property of the rubber vibration isolator is hysteretic, and damping force is a function of deflection as well as velocity. Then, based on the result, a simple approximate equation of damping force is proposed.

Passive shock absorbers can be optimally designed for specific conditions of use. However, passive shock absorbers cannot function optimally under conditions that are different from the specified conditions of use. In order-to solve these problems, we propose an optimization method of a semi-active shock absorber for aircraft landing gear and show that the proposed shock absorber can handle the problem of variation of maximum vertical acceleration of aircraft during landing due to variation in the mass of the aircraft. We compare the optimum semi-active shock absorber and an optimum passive shock absorber regarding mass variation of the aircraft via simulation. Furthermore, we compare the optimization results using Powell's conjugate direction method and those using Carroll's FORTRAN Genetic Algorithm Driver.

When an isolation device is used, big relative displacement arises between the device and the ground. The purpose of this research is to make relative displacement smaller by friction. Then, the analysis model that is considered friction was created, and simulation analysis was performed with the actual seismic wave. As a result, as friction becomes larger displacement becomes smaller. However, it is turned out that response acceleration becomes larger. Moreover, an experimental model is created, carried out and compared with a result of an analysis. Furthermore, it is thought that the optimal frictional force which makes both response acceleration and displacement small exists. This is considered to change with seismic waves. Then, the decreases in response acceleration and response displacement are investigated through the. relation between input acceleration and the optimal frictional force, using simulation analysis.

In recent years, the danger of relatively long period seismic waves is pointed out from the response of the skyscraper, and the sloshing damage of a large-sized tank in case of an earthquake. Generally, although a natural period is set as about 3 seconds by the isolation system, if a relatively long period seismic wave is taken into consideration, natural period need to extended further. Therefore we propose the super-long-period active isolation system that used active control aiming at the period of isolation system is extended, and the further improvement of isolation system performance. In this paper, we designed a control system, and selected the optimum variables of transfer function using genetic algorithm.

Recently, the number of earthquake isolation structure has been increased. The most of earthquake isolation structure is applied the rubber bearings that are well - known as device. However, few light-weight structures such as wooden houses are not applied the isolation device, because it is difficult to apply the rubber bearings, for example, the diameter of the rubber bearing narrows according to extension of the natural period of isolation system, and the device can not support superstructure. In this study, the purpose is development about isolation system for Light-Weight Houses, we propose that the new isolation system is supported with the linear slider and force of restitution is given by transverse stiffness of the coil spring. In this paper, result of numerical analysis in this system was reported.

Recently, many researches who work with time-frequency analysis using wavelet transform have focused on analyzing wavelets that are derived using a mathematical approach. In the present analysis, a measured signal is adopted as the wavelet, and we analyze the correlation between acoustic signals in the car cabin and suction noise signals by applying the proposed system. Because traditional calculation of correlation repeats the averaging procedure, the original signal must be stationary. Consequentially, a technique for separating and identifying noise from each part of the engine is used for noise source contribution analysis. To apply the method to time-varying signals, the concept of an instantaneous correlation factor (ICF) is introduced, and we prove that, a dominant feature of the correlation can be estimated by the ICF. The time-varying correlation for the noise source contribution analysis of an accelerating car is analyzed.

This paper deals with decrease of noise caused by chain drive. The relation between the noise of the chain drive and natural frequency calculated using finite element method and found from the impulse response experiment was investigated. From the result silent sprocket that suppresses the shock of a collision between sprocket and the chain roller with enlarging displacement of the cog was made. To investigate the relation between displacement of the cog and the chain tension, the tension experiment was carried out with the silent sprocket and enlarging displacement of the cog was proved. The tension analysis using finite element method was carried out and the result was compared with experimental result. The sound experiment was carried out with the silent sprocket. From the result the relation between decrease of the noise caused by the chain drive and the chain tension was investigated.

New type of storage electric water heater supplies hot water through the heat exchanger, located in a vacuumed stream space. Although the structure of this kind of water heater is durable and profitable to keep the sanitation clean, the high level of noise has occurred when the low temperature boiler water has been heated up. One cause of this kind of noise should be the strong pulsating change of pressure, which is occurred by a condensation and collapse of vapor bubbles. And the intensity of such pulsating pressure depends on the degree of subcooling. One controlling method to reduce such noise and to storage in high speed has proposed. In that method, two heaters, which were located at upper and lower level of boiler water, were employed and controlled according to a change of temperature in stream space.

Recently, various types of high damping materials are widely used for suppressing vibrations in order to develop quit machines and create comfortable life spaces. However, those damping characteristics are generally evaluated experimentally. In this paper, the damping characteristics of a metal are investigated analytically. A dynamical analytical model of steel molecules is established and the damping mechanisms of a metal are investigated. Iron is treated here. As a first step, fundamental vibration characteristics and the energy dissipating characteristics are studied in an adiabatic condition.

In this paper, an active dynamic absorber using piezoelectric actuator is proposed. The absorber is made up of a cantilever beam with a weight attached on the free end. The piezoelectric actuator is bonded near the fixed end and a strain gauge also attached near the fixed end is used for feed-back. The principle of vibration control is shown, and experiments using a cantilever beam as the main vibration system are carried out. The effect of vibration reduction has been obviously observed.

It is introduced that the development of DGPS based small mowing robots as platform for examine the multi-agent technologies into real world. Several multi-robot systems using multi-agent technologies were developed. However, there are little researches treating the real world tasks. By treating the real world tasks, it can be confirm the effectiveness of the several strategies proposed for the multi-agent systems. For this purpose, we select mowing task, especially, in open areas like as parks. Throughout the primary experiments, the performance of the robot system is shown as the sufficient for the real mowing task.

In the development of a multi-robot system on which a number of mowing robots work cooperatively and autonomously, it is the problem how robots share the assigned lawn and plan their each tasks. We aim to propose methods of a region allocation and a task scheduling using the Voronoi. Diagram and estimate it by experiments using the simulator system.
