In 1948 “Die Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Akupunktur” offered a prize contest of the scientific investigation on the difference of the effects of the gold and siver neeles of acupuncture.
The author checked the difference of the effects by means of electric skin test, and could find a particular effect of the contact of a piece of metal at certain points on the meridians u port the values of impedance of the terminal points.
After hundreds of experiments, the following clinical laws were ascertained:
1) To the normal values of impedance gives the contact no effect.
2) The contact of a piece of gold on the “Mother point”(known in Europe as point tonifiant) as well as on the “Child point”(point dispersant) equilibrates the differnce of impedance of the meridians of right and left, or Yinn and Yang.
3) If there are difference of impedance between Yinn and Yang meridians, the contact on the “Lo point” equilibrate it.
4) Any kinds of metals, such as silver, steel, nickel, copper, lead or alloys haves the same effect.
5) Not only solid metals, but also a drop of solution of metalic ion on the point have same effect.
6) A point on a meridian which belongs to a category of the “5 elements, ” attached with a piece of metal has the equilibrating effect on the meridians of same category.
7) The contact on the indifferent points, including “Source point” unless it happens to be point tonifiant or point dispersant, like on the heart meridian, has no effect.
8) An effective attachment acompanied with uneffective contact makes the effect negative.
9) General or spinal anaesthesia can not interfere the effect.
10) Local anaesthesia on the effective points brockades the effect.
11) The phenomen was aknowledged also on a fresh dead body.
12) A pole of a magnet, south or north, approached to the effective point, has the same effect.
13) Approach of north and south pole in series on any points of a meridians along the “circulation of energy” makes the e quilibration as well.
14) 2 kinds of metals in series (in proper order) have the same effect.
15) The order of the metals is: Hg-Cu-Au-Ag-Fe-Pb
16) The serial contact of 2 different metals could be utilized to demonstrate the route of the meridians, especially of the extraordinary meridians. If the proper contact could not affect the difference of impedance in question, extraordinary meridians might concern.
17) These phenomena also could be applied to decide the correct localisation of an acupuncture point.
The author also studied the daily change of impedance of the meridians and points which were described in the ancient text books with this electric test.
