X-ray computed microtomography (micro CT) observations were performed to obtain detailed three-dimensional images of a stylopized wasp, Vespa simillima Smith, 1868 by Xenos moutoni (du Buysson, 1903). The sample was stained by iodine 1% in ethanol 99% solution for contrast enhancement. The internal structure of wasp and endoparasitic strepsipterans were well observed. The muscle, digestive organ and sting of the wasp, muscle and other structures in strepsipteran male puparium, and particles of eggs in strepsipteran female body were easily recognized in the reconstructed three-dimensional images. While the thin portions such as wing film and fine hairs on wasp body were lacked in the reconstructed three-dimensional images.
