    We examined the effects of spectral composition conversion films on proliferation of protocorm-like body (PLB) of Cymbidium finlaysonianum using 4 red fluorescent films. PLBs were cultured under cool fluorescent light covered with the fluorescent films or clear film (Blank) as control with 16hr photoperiod for 40 days. NB-PS and BD-PS films increased significantly the number of PLB after 20 days of culture. On the other hand, the number of PLB of ID-PS and CD-PC film was almost similar to that of Blank film. At 40 days after culture, the increase in number of PLB was as follows; BD-PS>NB-PS>CD-PC>ID-PS>Blank. Furthermore, the number of PLB was increased regardless the period of the NB-PS film-covered time. We found that the red fluorescent films (NB-PS and BD-PS) increased the PLB proliferation of C. finlaysonianum, even if the film was covered only during early stage of the culture.

    Genetic analysis for immature fruits color was carried out using C. chinense accession 'S3010' that has dark green immature fruits and C. frutescens accession 'S3212' that has yellowish white immature fruit color. The F_2 population showed continuous and polymodal curve on frequency distribution of immature fruit color. Their segregation on dark green, green and yellowish white in immature fruit was fitted to 12:3:1. All of the fruits in BCP1 population showed dark green, however the segregation of BCP2 population was not fitted with 2:1:1. The calculated effective factor was 1.8. The above results showed the immature fruit color (dark green, green and yellowish white) is controlled by two dominant epistasis loci mainly. And some of quantitative gene loci controlled the depth of the green in immature fruit color.

    We can expect from the operating system of Chinese companies in the fast economic growth and their estrangement is arising between calculation of cash flow and calculation of profit and loss. However, research review result shows that the status of this estrangement is not clear. Therefore this paper identifies the following five points according to financial statements of nine agriculture-related companies. 1) The operating status of the agriculture-related companies. The financial security had been deteriorating as a result of over investment in fixed assets for 2005. But the company has achieved a sound CF because of the policy of raise interest rates. 2) The status of estrangement. The range of it does not tend to extend, and its annual change was significant. 3) The factors of the estrangement and change. To the positive direction is due to loan, increase of capital and investment in marketable securities recovery. To the negative direction is due to the role of debt, investment in fixed assets and investment in marketable securities. 4) C/F play a supplementary role to P/L and B/S. 5) We can predict that the departure of the listed agriculture-related companies will expand steadily to the positive direction in the future. Therefore, the importance of C/F will increase.

    The effect of photoperiod on the flowering of Ridolfia segetum Moris. was studied. Plants were exposed to an 8hr photoperiod under natural daylight. The photoperiod was extended with 60W incandescent lamps to give an 8 to 24hr a day. Under photoperiods at and above 14hr, flower buds were initiated; the days from bud formation to flowering were shortened in plants grown under a 16hr and a 24hr photoperiod or if the night was interrupted for 2hr beginning at midnight. Ealier sowing resulted in earlier flowering, when the plants were subjected to a 16hr photoperiod.

    The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of sugar solution supply to cut-sprouts of sweet potato on rooting and growth. Rooting was promoted by sugar solution supply. It was cleared that affects of sugar solution promoting rooting was not due to osmotic potential of sugar solution. The affects of sucrose solution was higher than that of glucose. It was suggested that effects of sugar solution supplied to cut-sprouts was not only to promote rooting but also to enhance the growth of cut-sprouts and the formation or thickening of tuberous root after supplying sugar solution.

    GABA (γ-aminobutyric acid) is a functional constituent, which has a variety of functions such as blood pressure reduction, diabetes prevention, and sleep improvement. Absorption of water by rice grain activates various enzymes for the generation of GABA. The rapid water absorption into rough rice during the soaking process results in a high percentage of fissuring. In this report, in order to restrict the fissuring, GABA enriching characteristics were investigated using rice grains in its paddy form. As a result, we could achieve a high quality GABA enriched brown rice. GABA content after the enriching process can be estimated by the multiple regression analysis using the soaking and enriching conditions. The most significant condition is the enriching time.
