ミクロフィブリル傾角（MFA）は、木材の物性および乾燥時の収縮挙動と高い相関がある。テーダマツ圧縮あて材およびオポジット材について、乾燥に伴う MFA の変化を小角X線散乱によって、木材の収縮挙動をカメラによってそれぞれ測定した。圧縮あて材においては相対湿度の減少に伴って MFA が増加した。試料は乾燥により年輪接線、樹木長軸両方向に収縮した。オポジット材においては、相対湿度の減少に伴って MFA も減少した。また、試料は乾燥に伴い接線方向に材が収縮し、樹木長軸方向にはほぼ収縮しなかった。
