X-ray photoelectron diffraction of 1T-TaS2 was obtained by using an ultrawide-angle electron energy analyzer. The experiment establishes the framework for a time-resolved soft X-ray photoelectron diffraction in picosecond regime at BL07LSU. The experimental photoelectron diffraction pattern is compared with the theoretical pattern. The framework is supported with the time-resolved hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HAXPES).
An initial experiment was carried out to measure dynamics with x-ray photon correlation spectroscopy in supercooled Ga on the 1-100 ps time scale. The state-of-the-art x-ray split and delay optical system available at SACLA was used. The challenges encountered are highlighted giving a perspective for future studies.
