    A single trait factor, Calculation Speed, and five state factors, General Energy Level, Fatigue, Excitation, Rhythm and Volitional Tention, are extracted from a (30×30) correlation matrix obtained from a 30-minute performance of simple additions of two single-digit numbers in the Uchida-Kraepelin Psychodiagnostic Test. Factor scores are estimated by the multiple regression method and thirty error factors are calculated by substituting them into the formula of the factor analytic model. The distributions of common and error factor scores are completely normal with the zero mean and the unit variance in each. Discrepancies between the observed and synthetic data are found to be very small. A computer program in Fortran language is also prepared as an objective evaluation of the Uchida-Kraepelin Test.

    Factor analysis has been proposed and used as a method of statistical analysis of several measurements made on one individual repeatedly over a period time.
    The purpose of this study was to analyse the intra-individual difference of a single person on the work curve of the Uchida-Kraepelin Psychodiagnostic Test by means of P-O-technique factorization. Furthermore, the purpose was to indicate to what extent the subjects' curve revealed. A unique pattern of factor loadings for each person and to what extent it was stable through the repetition of this test.
    Our students sat as the subjects for 40 days in succession. The performance scores of each row were directly used for the raw scores. In P-technique, 30 variables (row 30 of this test) based upon the 40 day to day variation of intra individual differences were correlated, and in O-technique, 40 occasions based upon the 30 row to row variations were correlated. The principal component method of factorization was applied to these matrices of correlations.
    The main findings were as follows.
    1) The P-factors eliminated seemed to be identified with the factors already obtained by means of R-technique analysis. We might conclude that the greater part of the factor pattern was the same.
    2) For the person indicating the higher contribution of factor I to all factor space in P-technique, the considerable stability of his work efficiency could be predicated over the entire time of the series.
    3) On factor II and the following factors in P-technique, in spite of a smaller contribution to all factor space, the unique factor loading profiles of each person could be observed. This implied that the combination of these factor profiles made a characteristic feature of the work curve for each person.
    4) In O-technique, we could eliminate several factors which indicated the patterns of a multiple work curve. This result implied that the unique curve of one individual was constructed by several different patterns of the work curve. But the higher loadings on factor I over the time of the series indicated that a rather dominant pattern of work curve could existed in one individual, and under the condition, in which factor I occupied the greater part of the contribution to all factor space, cosiderable stability of the work curve in one subject could be predicated.
    5) About the factor structure, especially from the point of the factor loadings in factor I and II, we could observe that the work curve appearing in the first test was dissimilar to the curve of a subject having an inner consistency over the time of the series. This implied that, it was impossible to predict the immutability of one particular individual in the results of only the first test.

    Concurrent validity was examined between an objective analytical method and Uchida's intuitive rating. To evaluate objectively the degree of deviation from “the Normal State Curve” defined by Uchida, the present authors used the two pairs of scores: “Model, Anti-Model or Expected Model and Expected Anti-Model Scores” which were defined by Tsujioka on the basis of his factor analytic model. The concurrent validity between the 2 methods was verified by two approaches: Inductive and deductive. The former was the multiple correlation method while the latter was a method by means of which the coordinates of individual curves plotted on a 2-dimensional orthogonal axes were categorized into several groups. The results show a relatively high degree of concurrent validity.

    The intra-individual distribution of errors in simple, monotonous, and repetitive tasks can be theoretically described by the Poisson distribution, since the occurrence of error in each S, being a rare and random probability event, will be the Bernoullian stochastic process. Moreover, the previous observations tell that the combined error distribution of a group of Ss fits very closely the Pólya-Eggenberger distribution. Then, the inter-individual distribution should be the Gamma distribution. 12 Ss were asked to add pairs of numbers in sequence as precisely and as quickly as possible, in a manner similar to the Uchida-Kraepelin test. The results indicate that the occurrence of errors in each S obeys the Poisson distribution, and the combined distribution is in fact the Pólya-Eggenberger distribution.

    A device was made by the author by applying to Mosso's ergometer an apparatus which can directly indicate the integrated amount of the work, in addition to the curve of fatigue.
    The “Treppenphanomen” (promotion of muscle contraction immediately after the work) was more pronounced, the more the muscle was fatigued. Slight muscular movement prior to work reduced the “Treppenphanomen” and, moreover, increased the integrated amount of the work, even when the muscle was fatigued.
    This fact suggests that the most effective form of rest is not a mere relaxation of the muscles.
    Different causes might be considered as to the explanation of the results obtained above. As the circulation of the tissue fluid surrounding the muscle fibers is most effectively activated by the pumping action of the muscle at its contraction, the intramuscular fluid seems to be transiently refreshed immediately after commencement of the work.

    1.地方の女子短期大学学生中,正常者4例につきクレペリン内田法による精神作業検査を行つた.時間の信号方法として通例の口頭でするもののほかに,特に考案した信号時計を用いる方法を試みた.検査は2週間に亘つて4回,その第1,3回は口頭信号,第2,4回は時計信号によつた.
    2.口頭信号と時計信号とでは初頭努力の現われ方に差のある場合が認められた.すなわち口頭信号では初頭努力の著しくない場合およびこれを欠く場合があつたが,時計信号ではそのようなことを見なかつた.
    3.その他の点では口頭信号と時計信号とで取り立てて云うべき差異は認められない.

    (特に時計信号の場合の)にも休憩前作業の途中に一過性の高まり(小丘形成と呼んだ)が見られる場合がある.このような作業能力の動揺は正常的なものと考える.

    本研究では, ホーニング音が作業者に与える影響について, ホーニング音環境下において内田クレペリン精神検査を行うことにより, 作業能率に及ぼす影響を定量的に調べた. その時の作業者の脳波を測定し, 作業者心理に及ぼす影響を把握した. 得られた結果をまとめると次のようになる. 高音圧のホーニング音環境下においても,

    の異常は定型崩れにとどまり, 被験者の心理状態が極めて異常な状態に陥ることはなかった. ホーニング音の心理的影響と作業能率への影響は, 主に「初頭努力の欠如」が現れ, 作業に対する取りかかりが悪くなった. ホーニング音が周期性のある騒音であることから, 時間の経過に伴いホーニング音の心理的影響は小さくなり, このため後期におけるその影響は小さかった. ホーニング音の影響の度合いには個人差があるが, 誤謬の過多などを生じるほどの大きな影響を及ぼすことはなかった.

    In overseas factories where labor costs are lower than in Japan, assembly work and other such production line operations rely heavily on manpower, so the quality and quantity of the products produced depend on the capabilities of the workers. To produce conforming articles speedily, workers have to be able to do repetitive work evenly on the production line. However, work abilities differ greatly from individual to individual. To hire the workers best suited for the tasks to be done and place them in the right jobs, a way of accurately testing their aptitudes, a paper-and-pencil test, for example, is necessary. In this study,to establish an effective autonomous way to find out if a person is suited for production work in advance in production sites throughout the world, we studied the use of the RT method to judge workers' working capabilities from the results of the Kraepelin general-purpose aptitude test. As a result, it was confirmed that worker capability can be determined at a level that is effective enough for practical use.

    Perceived air quality, Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) symptoms and productivity were studied in a test house at Kagoshima University. The air pollution level was modified by introducing or removing a pollution source of rubber-carpet. Eighteen college-aged subjects were exposed to the two rooms, one room (room A) with the pollution source present and the other room (room B) with the pollution source absent. The subjects assessed the perceived air quality, indoor climate and SBS symptoms upon entering the room and on several occasions during each exposure in the room. During each exposure of 40 minutes, the subiects performed serial one-figure addition task. The odor intensity and the throat dryness in room A were higher than those in room B. It was found that there was no significant difference in total score of serial one-figure addition task between two rooms. However significant difference in fatiguability was found between two rooms for the subjects whose performance curve was kept constant.

    The factorial structure consisting of a trait factor and 5 state factors (Calculation Speed, Energy Level, Fatigue, Excitation, Periodic Rhythm and Volitional Tension) found by Tsujioka (1968) in the work curves of the Uchida-Kraepelin Psychodiagnostic Test was tested by the factor analyses of 11 correlation matrixes based on various subject samples (Table 3), in terms of coefficients of congruence among the factor loadings by Formula (4) and correlations among the factor-estimates by Formula (1); and also by the principal component analysis with Varimax rotation of the correlation among the factor-estimates which were obtained by various evaluation procedures. The results revealed the remarkable similarity with the factors found by Tsujioka, except for a partial inconsistency in Periodic Rhythm Factor. The transformation from Tsujioka's 6-factor model to the spectrum model of Fourier analysis by Kashiwagi, Nakatsuka and Okumoto was discussed.

    The impact of the work motivation on the occupants' work performance of serial one-figure addition task and proofreading task was studied in two conditions, i.e., the condition A under cool condition (22℃) and the condition B under neutral condition (25℃). During the occupancy of 120 minutes under each condition, the subjects performed the above tasks with financially motivated situation and without motivated situation. The subjects also answered the questionnaire, which asked the indoor environmental quality and sick building syndrome symptoms during the conditions. It was found that there was significant difference in the performance of theses two tasks between the motivated situation and the non-motivated situation. Under the motivated situation, the performance curve of the addition task performed under condition A and that under condition B were alike in shape. The shape of the performance curve under condition A with non-motivated situation was similar to those with motivated situation. The performance of addition task was well correlated with the thermal acceptability vote for the motivated situation. On the other hand, the good correlation was not found between the performance and thermal acceptability for the non-motivated situation.

    Generally the cylindrical cam or the end cam with a swinging follower is employed for feeding saddles, chucking stocks and threading screws of an automatic screw machine and for driving apparutuses of automatic machines with complicated movements. With the cylindrical cam which acts comparatively slow and has to be made especially fine as in an automatic screw machine, it is desirable that the most suitable cam will be designed and worked up with so thorough deliberation that the grooved curves hold their theoretical accuracy for the actual cutting time and on the other hand it also must be considered that the sudden up and down of curves due to shortening of the idle movement timegive shocks to every parts of the apperatus. In this paper the foundamental equations of the design of the cylindrica1 cam with a swinging follower have been led, then it is expected that the error in the design of cams used for automatic machines will be corrected and their accuracy will be bettered.

    ガス体ならびに液体試料の定量分析を直読式に行なえる赤外ポリクロメーターを試作した。これは特定の混合試料の分析に使用する単能型分析計であるが,検出器位置を変化させれば任意の試料に適用できる。光学系は通常の赤外分光計と同様であるが,分散系による焦点面上において成分数に応じた数のスリット-検出器系を各分析成分のキー・パンド位置に設定して,入射エネルギーを指示計器のフレで直読する方式である。本装置について,定量分析への応用を検討した結果,通常の赤外分光計と同じ精度で瞬間的に分析でき,工場現場用連続分析計として実用可能であることがわかった。
