    The purpose of this study is to examine the experience of the golf practice class with lodging and the longitudinal change of life skills through it. The subjects of 11 university students (male=9, female=2, mean age=19.30, SD=1.17) were asked to answer a questionnaire that was composed of socio-demographic questions, the Experience Scale in University Physical Education Classes (ESUPEC), impressions of golf practice class, and Life Skills Scale for University Students (LSSUS). Descriptive statistics and text mining were conducted to reveal the experience of the golf practice class. Paired t-tests and calculation of Cohen's d were conducted to examine longitudinal change of life skills. The results of descriptive statistics showed that mean scores of ESUPEC were high compared with a previous research. The results of text mining showed that the words of “enjoy” and “difficult” appeared frequently. In addition, some word networks such as including positive psychological aspects were shown. Paired t-tests revealed that the scores of “Leadership”, “Scheduling” and “Self-Esteem” of LSSUS increased significantly, their Cohen's d ranged from 0.43 to 0.63. The results above indicate that sports activities with lodging might be more effective to obtain psychosocial skills.

    The purposes of this study are to develop Positive Coping Scale for University Students (PCSUS) and to examine the relationship between sports participation and positive coping of university students. The participants of 616 university students (male=259, female=352, Non response=5; mean age=19.30, SD=1.17) were asked to answer a questionnaire that is composed of socio-demographic questions including the belonging to sports clubs, 35 items to measure positive coping, the FIT Index and the Exercise Participation Assessment Scale for University Students (EPASUS). Exploratory factor analyses, reliability analyses and covariance structural analysis were conducted to develop the PCSUS. Also, t-tests and correlation analyses were conducted to examine the relationship between sports participation and PCSUS. The result of exploratory factor analyses identified a six-factor model with 24 items on PCSUS. Reliability analyses and covariance structural analysis confirmed that each Cronbach’s alpha was high value and the scale had satisfactory fit indices of structural validities. The results of t-tests showed that mean scores of some subscales from PCSUS were significantly different between sport club participants and non-participants as well as participants with higher level and lower level of physical activities. In addition, the results of correlation analyses using subscales of EPASUS and PCSUS showed that subscales of EPASUS were significantly positively correlated to subscales of PCSUS. The results indicate that sports participation may enhance positive coping.

    本研究では、「スポーツ活動参加がレジリエンスの発達・促進を介して自己成長を導く」という仮説を設定し、スポーツ活動参加、レジリエンスおよび自己成長感の関係性を検討することを目的とした。健康・スポーツに関する授業を履修する大学生425名(男性168名、女性254名、不明3名、平均年齢19.16歳、SD=1.16)を分析対象とし、質問紙調査を集合調査法にて行った。調査内容は、大学生版自己成長感尺度の原案、運動参加形態評価尺度、大学生版日常生活レジリエンス尺度であり、探索的因子分析、相関分析および共分散構造分析を行った。探索的因子分析の結果、1因子10項目で構成される大学生版自己成長感尺度が開発された。相関分析の結果、運動参加、レジリエンスおよび自己成長感の間に、複数の有意な正の相関関係が認められ、共分散構造分析の結果、「運動参加」からレジリエンスを構成する「個人内資源」および「社会的資源」へのパス係数、「個人内資源」から「自己成長感」へのパス係数は有意であった。これらの結果から、スポーツ活動参加がレジリエンスにおける個人内資源を発達・促進させた結果として、自己成長を導くような認知的思考や行動を誘発することが推察された。

    This study was investigated the effect of the hand-made badminton racket grip. The parameters of the comparison measured the shape of the grip, the movable angle at wrist joint, the contact area between hand and grip. Additionally, the EMG activity during racket swing motion was measured for two minutes, and the grip strength was measured before and after in racket swing. The characteristics of the hand-made grip became thick of the intermediate portion of grip. The movable angles in the palmar-flexion and the dorsi- flexion and the radial- flexion increased in the hand-made grip. The contact area between hand and grip in the hand-made grip increased significantly in the index finger, middle finger and ring finger. There was no difference in the EMG activity during the racket swing motion between the ready-made grip and the hand-made grip. The grip strength of the swing in the ready-made grip was decreased significantly both before and after compared to the hand-made grip. It was considered to enjoy the badminton sport to people of a wide range of age, and it was also important to fabricate a grip on their hand.

    The purpose of this study is to develop Life Skills Scale for University Students (LSSUS) and to examine the effect of sport participation for the acquisition of life skills. The subjects of 405 university students (male=186, female=216, Non response=3 ; mean age=19.35, SD=1.11) are asked to answer a questionnaire that is composed of socio-demographic questions, 36 life skills question items and The FIT Index. Exploratory factor analysis, reliability analyses and covariance structural analysis are conducted to develop the LSSUS. Also, cluster analysis and higher-order factor analysis are conducted to examine construction of LSSUS. Furthermore, t-tests and regression analyses are conducted to examine relationship between sport participation and LSSUS. The result of exploratory factor analysis identifies a twelve-factor model with 36 items on LSSUS. Reliability analyses and covariance structural analysis confirm that Cronbach's alpha coefficient reliabilities respectively and the scale has satisfactory fit indices of structural validities. Cluster analysis and higher-order factor analysis show that LSSUS consists of three higher-order factors. The results of t-tests show that mean scores of LSSUS are significantly different between sport club participants and non-participants, higher level and lower level in physical activities. In addition, the results of regression analyses that are set The FIT Index as independent variable and three higher-order factors of LSSUS as dependent variables show that The FIT Index is significantly associate with “Intrapersonal Skills,” and “Active Skills.” The results indicate that sport participation enhance a part of life skills.

    【問題と目的】青年期におけるレジリエンスの向上を目的とした介入を行うには,個々人の持つレジリエンスについての状況を把握する必要がある。本研究では,調査者および参加者に対してフィードバックを行う際に,個々人のレジリエンスの状況をより明確に提示することを意図し,「個人内特性」および「環境的要因」の両側面から,レジリエンスをより簡易的に測定することを可能とする,多次元的な尺度の開発を目的とした。

    【方法】健康・スポーツに関する授業を履修する学生616名(男性259名,女性352名,不明5名,平均年齢19.30歳,SD>=1.17)を分析対象とし,質問紙調査を集合調査法にて行った。調査内容は,「大学生版日常生活レジリエンス尺度:Resilience Inventory for Daily Life of University Students(RIDLUS)」の原案,「大学生版ライフスキル尺度:Life Skills Scale for University Students(LSSUS)」および「大学生版ポジティブ・コーピング尺度: Positive Coping Scale for University Students(PCSUS)」であった。RIDLUSの開発,およびその構造性の検討のために,探索的因子分析,信頼性係数の算出,検証的因子分析,相関分析,クラスター分析および高次因子分析を行った。

    【結果】RIDLUSの原案に対する探索的因子分析の結果,5因子25項目が抽出され,各下位因子の信頼性係数は,すべて.80以上を示した。抽出された因子構造をもとに検証的因子分析を行った結果,各適合度指標は,統計学的基準値を満たした。また,相関分析の結果,開発した尺度と関連が想定されたLSSUSおよびPCSUSの各下位因子との間に,有意な相関が認められた。さらに,クラスター分析および高次因子分析の結果,2つの1次因子(「個人内資源」および「社会的資源」)を有すると仮定した尺度構造において,各適合度指標は,統計学的基準値を満たした。

    【考察】分析の結果,一定水準の信頼性と構成概念妥当性および基準関連妥当性を備えた,5因子25項目(各5項目)で構成される「大学生版日常生活レジリエンス尺度(RIDLUS)」が開発された。各因子の項目数が揃えられたことにより,レーダーチャートなどを用いた視覚的なフィードバックを行うことが可能となった。また,多くの変数を用いたモデルを分析する際には,レジリエンスを「個人内資源」と「社会的資源」に大別して使用することもでき,研究上の実用性も高い尺度であると考えられた。

    The purpose of this study was to investigate the weight reduction programs of high school Judoists and Wrestlers, and to compare them.
    The results were as follows:
    1. The student of experience of weight reduction is 35.2% of Judoists and 77.6% Wrestlers.
    2. As to the question of why they practice weight reduction, many of the Judoists (57.1%) and Wrestlers (53.3%) replied that the decision of whether to participate or not was personal, and was not going to be changed by the influence of others.
    3. As to the question of how they judge their success in weight reduction, many of Judoists (55.4%)and Wrestlers (62.2%) replied that success actually means to do one's best, even if winning is not possible.
    4 As for the method of weight redution, many of the Judoists and Wrestlers replied that dieting, restricted water intake and practice with extra clothes were effective but also painful. Running was effective and less painful.
    5. As for the level of fatigue (physical and mental factors) during weight reduction, Wrestlers were more than Judoists.
    6. As for the pattern of weight reduction, the Judoists (25.0%) and Wrestlers (40.0%) replied that the weight was gradually lost by check-in time, generally compared with Judoists, Wrestlers tend to lose one's by limit before check-in time.
    7. As for the consciousness of weight reduction limit, Judoists (45.6%) and Wrestlers (66.6%) replied that it was above 5%.
    8. The knowledge of basic nutrition such as regarding proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals was generally known by Judoists and Wrestlers.

    This study investigated the evaluation of easiness to grasp grips of hand-made and of ready-made badminton rackets by means of the measurement of movable angle at wrist joint and EMG activity during racket swing motion for two minutes. The wrist joint movement were palmar-flexion, dorsi- flexion,ulnar- flexion, and radial- flexion, and the swing motion were forehand and backhand swing. Grip strength afrter continuous swinging hand-made racket was lager than that after swinging ready-made racket. EMG activity in grasping hand-made racket did not increase, but that in grasping ready-made racket increased. In grasping the hand-made racket, the movable angle of wrist joint was expanded in radial-flexion, compared with grasping the ready-made racket.

    体力測定を受検した男性237名 (45.8±12.6歳) と女性317名 (44.2±13.0歳) を対象として, スポーツ施設会員の医学的側面と, 30回の運動が会員の体力測定項目に及ぼす影響について, 厚生省が示した「運動所要量」を基準に検討した結果, 以下のような知見を得た。
    1) 当スポーツ施設から南大阪病院・他病院へ紹介した会員数は, 男女ともに整形外科的疾患が最も多く, 次に心電図異常が多くみられた。
    2) 当スポーツ施設において最も多くみられた事故は切傷で, 次に多くみられた事故は脳虚血様症状であった。
    3) 体力測定を受検した男性の54.9%と, 女の50.5%に疾患が認められた。これらの疾患には, 突然死につながる可能性がある心筋梗塞や, 心筋梗塞の危険因子といわれている高血圧, 高脂血症, 糖尿病, 肥満などの疾患も多くみられた。
    4) 男性では, 運動群のVO2maxとVO2max/wtがそれぞれ有意に増加したが, 対照群では, すべての項目において有意な変化が認められなかった。以上の結果から, 男性については, 「運動所要量」を満たす運動を週2回以上行うことの必要性が示唆された。
    5) 女性の場合は, 運動頻度が週2回に満たなくとも, 運動強度と1週間の合計運動時間が「運動所要量」を満たしていれば, ある程度の運動効果が期待できることが示唆された。

    卵白タンパク質は, 栄養機能は高いことは知られているものの, 健康機能についてはほとんど研究されていなかった。そこで, 卵白タンパク質が良質なタンパク源という特徴に着目し, 基礎的な研究を行ったところ, カゼインと比較して, 体タンパク質量, 筋肉量を増加させるとともに, 体脂肪量および内臓脂肪量を減少させることが示された。しかし, ヒトが卵白を多量に継続摂取することは比較的困難であったため, 卵白を乳酸発酵させることで, 風味を良くした「乳酸発酵卵白」を開発した。内臓脂肪が多めのヒトを対象とした試験を実施したところ, 「乳酸発酵卵白」は内臓脂肪型肥満を改善し, その効果は, 主にオボアルブミンによる脂質の吸収抑制によって引き起こされている可能性が示された。この「乳酸発酵卵白」は血清LDL-コレステロール濃度が高めの被験者で, 血清LDL-コレステロール濃度を低下することもわかった。卵白「乳酸発酵卵白」は, 生活習慣病の予防に活用できるタンパク源として, 人々の健康維持・増進に貢献することが期待された。

    This study was conducted to investigate the effect of plyometric training on longdistance runners by comparing changes in long-distance running performance and vertical stiffness. The subjects were seven males long-distance student runners who formed part of the training group and six males who formed part of the control group. The training group performed plyometric training twice a week for eight weeks. The training consisted of one set of ten repetitions of rebound jumps (RJ), 40m of bounding exercise, and 60m of relaxed running. The entire process was repeated five times a day. To even up the amount of exercise between the training and control groups, control group did 100m of relaxed running at the same schedules. Besides this difference in plyometric training, the training and control groups performed the same training.
    The main results were as follows:
    1) With regard to vertical stiffness in RJ and standing quintuple jumps, the performance of the training group improved significantly.
    2) The performance of the training group improved significantly with regard to vertical stiffness in long-distance running.
    3) Although 5000m race time for the training and control groups reduced significantly, there was no difference between groups.
    These results suggested that it was possible to improve vertical stiffness in various jumps (RJ and standing quintuple jumps) and vertical stiffness in long-distance running through plyometric training. However, the plyometric training did not further improve the long-distance running performance.

    The aim of this paper is to access the psychological condition of players during a tennis match by use of match contents analysis sheets. I examined the validity of the assessments by looking at the players’ psychological condition throughout the match (In-game Assessment) and compared it to their post-game assessments (Post-game Assessment). Furthermore, I examined each player’s psychological condition (during the matches), looked at the psychological changes which occurred during the match, and the flow of the matches. The results are as follows: 1) Differences between “In-game Assessment” and “Post-game Assessment” While the assessment In-game and Post-game were consistent, several points were significantly different for each player. In particular, if a player won the match, their Post-game Assessment score would be far greater than their In-game Assessment. This was particularly true for players who won their match, who would have high psychological assessment scores in their Post-Game Assessment while largely ignoring their In-Game Assessment scores. This was found throughout official and unofficial tournaments as well as practice matches. 2) Changes in the players’ psychological condition during a tennis match The difference in a player’s level could be observed from the stability of his or her psychological condition during a tennis match. Player Y, a High Level player, had low psychological fluctuations. On the other hand, Player X, a Low Level player, had high psychological fluctuations if the match progressed poorly, showing great changes in “unforced play”, “unease”, “calmness/composure” measures.

    According to previous studies surveying dietary supplements for sports athletes, proteins and amino acids are mainly utilized to decrease post-training fatigue. Additionally, peptides as an intermediate product, composed of two or more amino acids, are well known as an anti-oxidative supplement that shows high absorbency. Egg White Peptide (EWP), produced by hydrolyzing egg white with a neutral protease, has strong anti-oxidative effects, and is anticipated to be useful as a functional ingredient for improving endurance training and maintaining physical conditioning. The results of three human studies suggest that EWP is effective and applicable to decrease muscle damage following physically demanding training sessions. Moreover, it is expected that administration of EWP would be highly effective for the treatment of muscle fatigue during prolonged strenuous exercise (marathon running) and/or overtraining. This overview of the effect of EWP dietary supplementation for daily endurance activities indicates its utility in improving physical conditioning of athletes and citizen runners.
