    We develop conductor-backed single layered electromagnetic wave absorbers made of composite materials (spinel-type Ni-Zn ferrite, SiO2) which can operate in the frequency region below 5GHz. Both the complex permittivity and the complex permeability of ferrite composites obeyed Lichtenecker’s logarithm mixed law. The density and the hardness were improved by adding B2O3. The conductance value increased and the center absorbing frequency was shifted to the lower frequency with increasing the density. The conductivity can be reduced by adding oxide such as CoO, NiO or MnCO3. The complex permeability, however, decreases for the ferrite composites added CoO or NiO but does not change for that added MnCO3. The center absorbing frequency of the ferrite composites added MnCO3 can change in the wide frequency range by varying only the thickness without changing the composition. Absorbing characteristic of electromagnetic wave absorbers added CoO or NiO having required center absorbing frequency below approximately 5GHz can be achieved by coating of ITO thin film with the suitable thicknesses or resistivity without changing the composition. The limit of incident angle of the electromagnetic wave for the absorption above 90%, is approximately 35° for both TE and TM modes. The incident angle characteristic in not degraded for samples applied ITO thin film.

    The purpose of this study is to control the input impedance of the composite electromagnetic wave absorbers without changing their composition using ITO thin film as resistive thin film, which coats electromagnetic wave absorbers made of Ni-Zn ferrite and ferrite composites (spinel-type Ni-Zn ferrite, SiO2). The electromagnetic characteristics and absorption characteristics of these wave absorbers were evaluated. Compared with ferrite composites without ITO thin film, absorbing center frequency with the band width of the absorption above 90% of ferrite composites with ITO thin film was shifted to the lower frequency region. The range of the thickness for which electromagnetic wave is absorbed above 90% became broad using ITO thin film. These results shows that electromagnetic wave absorbers coated with ITO thin film with the requested center absorbing frequency can be made by choosing the suitable thicknesses of both the film and the ferrite composite without changing the composition of the absorber.

    We managed one environmental event with figuratively tagging environmental resources and creating conceptualized town Images to revitalize the environmental perceptions of the MINO JC members, whose were in thirties. This project was a trial of image buildings by them. In other words this event was caused the participants to imagine the ideal town figure to live in.
    In the event, after the guidance the participants were divided into four groups and went to walk around the MINO area. Whole going outside, they took some photographs of environmental resources and tagged them with funny names. Finally they drew posters which illustrate each group's conceptualized town images with those photographs and taggings. One group analogized their town image as an amusement park, in which the buildings were figuratively compared to some recreation facilities, the slide, the swing, and so on. Another group focussed on the directions of the roads crossing the city bound for the mountains and their illustraitions brought about rethinking the relation between the city planning and the topography.
    As a result of this event, the environmental perceptions of the participants had stimulated and it also indicated the importance to participate the men in thirties ages in these environmental event for reactivating, who had somo kind of ability to create concept.

    A rapid spectrophotometric determinati on fo Sn and As in ferrotungsten using solvent extraction has been carried out as follows.
    Take up 0.5 g of sample with hydrogen peroxide water and hydrofluoric acid, and evaporate to fumes with sulfuric acid. Add, after cooling, an amount of Be2+ and EDTA solution. Neutralize with ammonia water, and then add 10 ml in excess. Boil for 12 min., allow to cool and filter. Dissolve the precipitate with 10N sulfuric acid, and transfer the solution into a separatory funnel. Add potassium iodide solution and benzene, and extract Sn and As by shaking for 2 min. After washing the benzene layer with mixture of sulfuric acid and potassium iodide solution, back-extract Sn and As by shaking with 0.8N sulfuric acid, and made up to 50 ml. For the determination of Sn, add to an aliquot sodium sulfite, the buffer solution, gum arabic and phenylfluorone solution, and measure the absorbance at 510 mμ. For the determination of As, add potassium permanganate, ammonium molybdate solution and hydrazine sulfate solution, and heat in a boiling water bath. Measure the absorbance at 850 mμ.
    The method is applicable equally for tungsten ores, provided that the sample is taken up with sodium peroxide.

    The problem of odorous effluent gas at kraft mill is caused by some nasty-smelling compounds, chiefly containing of hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide, dimethyl disulfide.
    The removal of odour has been commercially executed by the so-called external treatments, including burning of gas, black liquor oxidation or steam stripping of condensates etc.
    The authors studied on the less odorous kraft pulping methods that could depress the amount of volatile organic sulfur compounds (VOS) formed on digestion. The results are as follows :
    (1) High temperature-short time method : The cooking was performed at temperature ranging from 175 to 190°C for 3080 minutes. On cooking at 180°C, amounts of VOS formed were 45% of those of a standard KP. Properties of pulp obtained were nearly equal to those of a standard KP.
    (2) Liquor exchange method : Exchange of white liquor for black liquor in cooking schedule gave a dramatic reduction of amounts of VOS. The process variables, namely low temperature- high active alkali in initial stage of cooking and high temperature- low active alkali in final stage exhibited the most reduction of amounts of VOS. The amount of VOS by this method was about 10% of that of a standard KP. Properties of pulp showed no appreciable difference from those of a standard KR
    (3) Vapour phase method and H2S-pretreatment method : These method gave about 1 and 4% higher pulp yield than a standard KP respectively. However, both methods do not give reduction of VOS-formation.

    Grain-size dependence of electromagnetic absorbing characteristics for composite materials made of Ni-Zn ferrite and SiO2 was investigated by using SiO2 with various grain sizes (29µm, 30nm, 12nm, 7nm). The absorption characteristics of ferrite composites using SiO2 of the average grain size 30nm, 12nm or 7nm were improved compared with those of ferrite composites using SiO2 of the average grain size 29µm in the low frequency region. Furthermore, grain size dependence for composite materials of Mn-Zn ferrite with the average grain size of 130nm and SiO2 with the average grain size of 29µm was investigated. The absorbing center frequency was shifted to the higher frequency region compared with that of Mn-Zn ferrite.

    非塩素漂白プロセスによる高白色度パルプの調製を目的として, 広葉樹酸素漂白クラフトパルプに白色腐朽担子菌Phanerochaete sordida YK-624株の産生するマンガンペルオキシダーゼ主体の粗酵素処理と過酸化水素漂白を組み合わせた処理を試みた。2回の酵素処理 (M) とアルカリ抽出 (E) 及び過酸化水素漂白 (P) を順次行ったMEMEPシークエンスにより白色度は約84%に達した。また過酸化水素処理時にEDTA前処理を行うことにより白色度90%以上のパルプの調製も可能であった。即ち, 酵素処理と化学処理を組み合わせることにより, 従来の生菌処理と比較して大幅に処理時間を短縮した非塩素漂白プロセスの可能性が示唆された。さらに, MEMP処理により得られた漂白パルプの繊維特性を検討するため, 叩解性, シート物性及び薬品定着性 (紙力増強剤, サイズ剤) を調査した。MEMP漂白パルプの叩解性及びシート強度は従来の漂白法によって得られたパルプ (OCED) にほぼ匹敵した。同一叩解度で調製されたパルプシートの繊維長分布は同じであったが, 微細孔容量の増加が観察された。ポリアクリルアミド添加による強度増加率及びアルキルケテンダイマーやロジン系サイズ剤添加によるサイズ効果の発現はOCEDパルプより優れており, これは粗酵素液処理と過酸化水素漂白の相乗効果によってもたらされた繊維内の微細孔容量の増加による薬品の定着性の増加によるものと考えられた。

    It is found from simulation study that electromagnetic wave absorbers made of composites of Ni-Zn ferrite and SiO2 particles, which are mutually isolated each other in the continuous medium of Ni-Zn ferrite, show absorption in the frequency region both below and above 1GHz. The spray method is proposed to fabricate such composites in this study. The thin films of Ni-Zn ferrite can be coated on the surface of SiO2 particles by the spray thin film deposition method. It is confirmed by XRD and the electromagnetic characteristics measurement. The measured complex permeability approached to the calculated result using the isolation model of SiO2 particles in the Ni-Zn ferrite medium than using Lichtenecker’s logarithm mixed low.

    Environmental planning needs traditional wisdom to reunify the skillful employed mechanisms of control environmental resources in modern society. Socio-environmental systems are one of the method to systemize the wisdom from rocal fields. The theory and methodology of the socio-environmental systems have not been established. This paper is a methodological study on the implanting process of socio-environmental systems in which the author aims to define a new theoretical models from the viewpoint of environmental planning. To present this subjects, the author suggested the “model block” to draw comparably diagrams of the socio-environmental systems, which are formed three parts; significant systems, social systems and spatial systems. The author fixed the implanting process as the designing new society to adopt another socio-environmental system to the planning society. Using this “model block”, the author identified the basic model of the implanting process, which are divided to three phases;(1) modeling phase, (2) adapting phase and (3) reunifying phase. Four major types of the implanting process are identified from the way how to adopt the another socio-environmental system in the society. Those are;(1) the rocal community adopted actively the implanted system to daily life named “Community type”, (2) the experimental introduction of the implanted system named “Event type”, (3) the isolated recreational places specialized for making a reproduction of the implanted system named “Themepark type” and (4) the isolated membership place realized the implanted system in daily life named “Utopia type”. The results of the systems analysis of the implanting process of the miniature pilgrimage places and the regional touristic places clarified the characteristics and the features of each type in each process being usable in practical applications. Finally, the author have developed the transit strategy of the implanting process of socio-environmental systems using the four type.

    The recent advances in the preparation of acetic anhydride by carbonylation of methyl acetate and/or dimethyl ether using catalytic systems including Rh or Ni, and methyl iodide or some other catalysts are reviewed. In contrast with the case of methanol, modification of catalyst by combining with organic N-, P-, or As- compound improves the rate of reaction. The addition of cocatalysts, such as lithium salts and/or Cr (CO) 6, also improves the activity of the catalyst.
    The reaction mechanisms of these reactions are also discussed.
    In connection with this reaction, the preparations of ethylidene diacetate, vinyl acetate and acetaldehyde are also mentioned.

    An environmental image-building technique in walking tours enables citizens to improve local environmental perception. We have designed and carried out serial events in “UEMACHI-HILL PROJECT” as an effective method of developing semantic cognition of environment. In the project, “Tagging intimately environmental resources in urban spaces” is examined as one of the techniques to aid of their image-building.
    Participants in the event would give local environmental resources nicknames accompanied by following two effects. One is to make participants feel much more attached to the local environmental resources, the other is to build diversified environmental image. Findings are as follows: 1) “Tagging” can support participants to develop environmental image in the context of mental linkage to physical properties; 2) Participants would improve local environmental image using “Tagging” technique in their daily lives;and 3) It is important that participants share their images with each other in the “Tagging” process.

    It has been found that if magnetic materials isolate in dielectric medium, permeability of composite material doesn't obey Lichtenecker's law, which is well known to explain permeability and permittivity of composite material. This characteristic leads to absorption of electromagnetic wave above 1 GHz. We proposed isolated model to simulate the frequency dispersion of permeability and developed composite electromagnetic wave absorber made of ferrite-SiO2 or permalloy-polystyrene system in which magnetic materials are isolated. The mechanical milling is employed to isolate magnetic materials in the dielectric medium. Ni-Zn ferrite could be isolated in the SiO2 medium and measured values of the complex permeability were close to simulated ones. As a result, this absorber can absorb electromagnetic wave in the frequency range near 2 GHz. Permalloy particles were insulated by molten polystyrene. Permalloy-polystyrene absorber showed good absorption characteristics in the frequency range between 3 and 8 GHz.

    環境問題を考慮し, 塩素系薬品を使用せずに種々の酵素を利用した広葉樹未晒クラフトパルプ (UKP) の漂白を検討した。酵素としてはリグニン分解酵素であるマンガンペルオキシダーゼ (MnP) とリグニンペルオキシダーゼ (Lip) 及びキシラナーゼを使用した。
    MnPはフェノール性リグニンモデル化合物しか酸化できないが, Lipは非フェノール性リグニンモデル化合物も酸化できる。そこで Phanerochaete chrysosporium の部分精製LiPを用いてH2O2を連続的に添加しながらUKPの処理を行ったところ, コントロールに比べベラトリルアルコールを併用することにより約5ポイントの白色度の上昇が観察されたが, 漂白性はPhanerochte szrdida YK-624 株のMnPによる処理より劣っていた。さらにLipとMnPを併用したパルプ漂白を検討したが, 両酵素による相乗効果は見られず, 同じような脱リグニンの挙動を示していることが推測された。キシラナーゼなどの糖加水分解酵素を漂白工程の前処理として利用すると, 脱リグニンの向上に効果的であることが報告されている。そこで, 広葉樹酸素漂白クラフトパルプ (O) をまずキシラナーゼ処理 (X) し, 次いでアルカリ抽出 (E), MnP処理 (M), H2O2漂白 (P) を順次行う非塩素系漂白プロセスを検討した。OXEMPシークエンスにより白色度は83%に達し, パルプ強度は塩素系薬品を用いて漂白したOCEDパルプとほぼ同等であった。
