The ditch (18cm in width, 18cm in depth) was installed around the greenhouse, and filled with water. It efficiently prevented the Kanzawa spider mite, Tetranychus kanzawai Kishida and common cutworm, Spodoptera litura (Fabricius) larva from invading into the greenhouses.
