Comparisons were made in the producing abilities of riboflavin (FR), flavinmononucleotide (FMN) and flavinadeninedinucleotide (FAD) of about a hundred strains of Aspergillus flavus-oryzae. No FMN was found in culture broth and no FR was observed in mycelium. Furthermore, the tendency was observed that the strains of such kind as mycelium of slow growth, conidia of unsatisfactory formation and short conidiophores, produced rather large amounts of flavin-substances. A strain producing the highest level of FAD, 49μg per 1g of dry mycelium, was selected from those strains.
