Kansuinin A, ingenol triacetate, and jolkinolide B, diterpenoids isolated from Euphorbia, were found to be potent inducers of nerve growth factor production in L-M cells. Each of these compounds has unique characteristics in the potency of the activity and the range of effective dose. Kansuinin A had the strongest activity, ingenol triacetate had wide-range activity, and jolkinolide B had narrow-range activity.
