Abstract Color is the important information for human being to discriminate objects ranging from big one，such as structures, to small one, such as confectioneries. Color identification is influenced by light conditions. In National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology(AIST)，Kansai center, after World War II, research on colorimetry, standardization of color, the relationship between light and color, and formulating standards, has been performed. In this report, representative outcomes in AIST, Kansai center, such as full-color illuminative devices and spectral reflectivity of object color, are mentioned.
