In order to achieve effective environmental education, field schooling is adopted in some universities. Yokkaichi University is surrounded by forest, and has many facilities such as a waste incinerator, bio-tope and a wind power generator. As an onsite training, inspections of the facilities moving around the campus, were carried out. These field schoolings showed a high effect on environmental education.

In order to identify the source of this pollution, we investigated the ground water around the illegal landfill site. High concentrations of boron, iron, fluorine were found near the landfill site.
